New YT feature...add a card ?!?

PinProject

I Love YTtalk
I was recently updating my annotations and I had a notification saying I now have access to "create cards"

Is this a new feature or have I just moved up a level to being granted access to more features?

What's the benefit to adding these "cards" I don;t see how they are any different than creating an annotation....

Hey I also got that feature, it has ability to put the annotation of any of ur video which u want the audience to click!
I have placed my video on 3:00, the video will appear at the top right (SUGGESTED VIDEO) then disappear after few seconds :)

It's pretty much like an annotation but more customized in the sense of choosing different suggested videos for different videos I guess....

I noticed it long time ago but it was not available for me yet, thanks for reminding me, I'm able to use it now! :D

Looks very interesting and might work better then annotations is some cases. Might be also very useful for someone who use merchandise.

More info about it:

Interesting that if you have a feature video or overlay in that video then they will not be displayed if you added in a Card. So it's one or the other.....so we need to figure out which one is more effective..

I believe it's so if you're talking about something specific and want to have link pop up where a user can click for more info, it's a little cleaner and sleeker than an annotation. And as mentioned, the link can be a video or playlist too.

I just noticed that you can't control the duration of it...hmm I still would rather use the feature video option at least that way people can see a small thumbnail.

Would be interesting to see how people will use it.

I got Cards today too.

You can't control the duration because it is there for the duration of the video after you set the starting point. You can't see it because it is very faint. If you hover over it, it will become fully lit.

These are absolutely better than annotations because annotations don't work on mobile devices. With 70% of my audience on mobile, it didn't make a lot of sense to use them. I stopped using annotations earlier this year.

This morning, I started going through my top videos and adding cards. I also posted on Facebook to let people know what they were and how to use them.
