New Custom URL terms

Personally, I don't really think it'll change that much, except for not really being able to link your channel like Michael brought up. As far as branding goes, I'm pretty sure it depends more on the name you set through google plus than your channel URL.

When you try changing it, it basically says "make your name more worse than before!"
 
So I accepted what Gogole offered me as I don't want my username as my url. The fools offered me awesomecardgamesblogspot (that's right blogspot) for my url so I took it as they weren't going to offer me anything else. It said I qualified for linking my official webpage to my Page, but my user url is still appearing public while my new url isn't public. The new url works as I can type it in and go straight to my channel. However, as I said it is not appearing in the public view.

EDIT:

I just spoke to someone who is familiar with Google and she told me the old custom and user urls will continue to work. So why are we being offered new custom urls when they don't appear to the public?

It's very funny how anyone can change their Twitter url in just a few seconds, but you can't do it on YouTube even if the url is available.
