I have no problem with it at all. I miss the YouTube where you had to work hard to receive certain things. Like having to get a certain amount to get youtube partnered. I remember it being a big deal to get a YouTube banner. It made it fun. It'll give new creators a chance to work towards something.[DOUBLEPOST=1417018052,1417017887][/DOUBLEPOST]
i changed my url a while back when i had a low amount of subs :) but now i want to change it :( is there anyway ?

I'm afraid not. Sucks right?

It also stops people taking useful channel names that proper content creators can use and dumping the channels later on.

Woah hey! hey! hold up! i'm curious.. even though i already set a custom URL when i created my channel would i be able to change my URL if i had my own website and i already meet the rest requirments?

I think that is just referring to Google+.
No its actually for youtube channel URL but its only if you're creating a new channel from now. Just wondering if i could request my URL to be changed manually somehow if i have a website as a proof for my name.

Ermahgawd when was this rule implemented :o I'm so worried right now dude.

Seems like we will need to to start telling newcomers they need 500 subscribers and to create a custom URL before they're able to link to theirs here as we only support /user/ at the moment. I don't mind the change but it doesn't affect me, I can imagine a lot of newcomers being unhappy and companies who won't be able to take their custom URL until later on in their channels/businesses life and by then someone else could take it. It will likely cause issues for those who want to brand their channel. It has pros and cons.
