Hey everyone!
This weekend was my 19th birthday and I got some new equipment! I'm posting this because I know some of you may use these things already and might have a tip on how to get the best out of them!
The first thing I got was a collapsable double-sided green/blue screen. It's about 7x4 and which isn't the best because my camera has a wider viewing lens. I'm trying to thing of how I can set it up so it will cover the whole scene. My first video using it I had to keep it leaning up against the back of my chair which was a little uncomfortable!
The second thing I got was a 1080p Logitech HD cam that latches onto my MacBook. I love it so far but I might be doing something wrong because it doesn't quite look HD to me. Maybe something I have to mess with?
And the last thing I got was a black ice blue snowball mic. I think it works great! It was pretty simple to plug in and use and my voice sounds much better in the videos!

I also have the green screen although mine came with like a border for it, i would suggest maybe trying to pin it to some walls or a ceiling? Also for the HD problem usually its the amount of light you need. I have a DSLR and it records in 1080P but whenever I did record the quality was descried as potato like xD... So maybe just try getting a lamp or something behind your camera and then try directing it towards you. Or invest in a cheap LED light. I hoped i helped man, keep on going!

Luke's point about light is very important to consider. While the megapixels in a webcam are inferior to a dedicated video camera, you can get the best out of your webcam by feeding it full of all the light you can handle. You'll get more detail if you correctly light the scene; the dynamic range of a webcam wont be particularly strong.

What are you using to edit your clips? Perhaps the files aren't being exported correctly, consequently damaging quality?

Good luck,
James.

I'll have to work on getting some better lighting to see if it helps more!
I'm currently using iMovie to edit and OBS to record. They all save as .mov files and transfer fine I think. Hopefully it's just the lighting haha

I have seen tutorials checking the lighting to make sure the quality is as high as possible. Also, make sure there are no filters, color corrections, or light corrections impacting the quality of the webcam in the software. Also, you can see if the focus is what's off with the webcam! Hope you figure it out and get that quality where you want it![DOUBLEPOST=1454447308,1454447113][/DOUBLEPOST]Oh and one more thing, I checked out your channel and saw that you don't fully take advantage of your video tags. Make sure to fill up the box that says, 'Tags' when uploading your video. It makes it a HUNDRED times easier for people to find your videos in the search bar and increases your chance of viewers. Also, just boost that voice volume up a bit and your videos with be very high quality. Best of luck mate!

Awesome! Thanks for the great tips! I'll make sure to do that in my new videos!
