Need help with a laptop!

HP Envy 15, Beats audio, Decently good built in mic/webcam, all around good and for the most part light weight (Little less then 5 pounds)
As long as you go with the more expensive option.. The specs are decent but you can get better for the price.

What kind of negatives have you heard about the Macbook? I have a 2011' 13' Macbook that I do almost everything on. I have a pc connected right next to my Macbook, but always end up going right to it. It's a really versatile and lightweight laptop to be honest. I've taken it in a carry on bag on to a plane multiple times, even on crappy Spirit airlines where there is no room whatsoever, and was able to watch a movie no problem because of how small it actually is!

As for editing. It handles great editing video as well. The webcam on it is more than adequate for Skype calls!

If you have any questions, let me know!

Because for the same price you get much more powerful hardware.

did you knwo beats audio is a gimick? :p its just where the equalizer has a fixed lows , mids and highs :p. you can do it yourself if you knwohow to work with an equalizer :))[DOUBLEPOST=1387040826,1387040700][/DOUBLEPOST]

this is true and not true. you say more powerfull, though actually newer equipment likes to save hardware. i7 processors arent that great if you think about it. they just use what would be needed and dont overclock at all. same with graphic cards. now they are made to not heat up at all. Mac software is made for mac and its made to not overheat the laptop. but yet again, everything positive has something negative :)

That's 100 not true. You can overclock i7. Dedicated GPUs in laptops are good. Mac software heats the exact same. Macs get incredibly hot. They are the same as windows pcs. They don't overheat because they will turn off before that happens.

ofcourse you can overclock them , but thats not the point, processors and graphics cards these days want to save energy. if you want a good proccesor worth your money, go use intel xeon.

That is so so untrue...
Xeon is a server processor, having one in a laptop is very silly for 99 percent of normal use.

Hello people :p
So once again I continue my search for a good laptop.
what im looking for:
- light weight (easy to travel with)
- good for editing and upload videos :p
- but also for normal school work
- with a build in (good quality) camera for Skype.
I have been thinking about getting a MacBook pro but then I get a lot of replies that its bad without good arguments. So if anybody has other good laptops I should look at or if you think a MacBook is good tell me why aswell.
Thanks for your help everybody!
And my budget is around €1000 (if its a MacBook im planning to spend a bit more)

hehe I feel your byers remorse. I felt the same when I was buying my new laptop.

At first I thought about buying a macbook pro but as it turned out I bought the New Samsung Chronos 7 (called ativ book 8 now).
My friend kept saying buy a macbook pro but after weeks of reading back and forth I went for the Samsung and I dont regret it even a single bit.

What I like most about it is its mobility. Its light and thin, but its sturdy.

Its made of aluminium. The trackpad is the best I've used and it has a backlit keyboard. It's very sleek and well built.
Styling-wise its on the same level as a macbook pro in every aspect.

What you dont get on the macbook pro is the performance. If you want a good editing machine you need to have good hardware and thats why this was an easy choice for me in the end. Here in Sweden you need to pay 2400€ for a macbook pro with a dedicated graphics card and thats insane.

I payed 1300€ for my samsung back in may this year and its maxed out spec wise. I know you could buy these for 899€ in "the States" right from the start.

Spend 1300€ on a macbook and you wont even get quad-core performance. Needless to say, if you are gonna use it for vloging without heavy editing then a macbook would be a great choice, but then again you could just go and buy any other laptop for under 600€.

hopes this helps!
