Need a screen recorder and editing software

In my opinion, the best recording software I could find has to be Mirillis Action. If you have an average PC, recording with Action is highly recommended by me, because as long as you record in AVI not MP4, there is almost no performance loss. The one drawback of this is that the file sizes are fairly large. If you have a relatively good PC, then MP4 is the best option, as you will be given great quality with low file sizes, but as I said, on an average PC this can cause some lag.
For editing, in my opinion, it is hands down Sony Vegas.

I use FRAPs still. There is probably better options out there but I know and trust FRAPs but with Windows 10 it won't screen capture. I also use Adobe Premiere to edit both gameplay videos and my comedy stuff. I used TrakAxPC before I got my hands on Premiere which is alot cheaper but not near as powerful as Premiere.
 
Thanks for the help guys :) I know Premiere is powerful, i've used it in the past, but it's the expense on that one XD ATM i'm only doing gaming videos so just need to record my screen and webcam and then slice the video up afterwards, Premiere might be overkill for that lol XD
 
camtasia is very simple and easy to use for editing and for recording, open broadcasting software or bandicam. OBS is a bit harder to use but once you get around some issues, you'll be fine. I'm going with Bandicam for this one.
 
I recommend OBS for screen capture, and Lightworks for editing (it's professional and free, and the paid version only has a couple of extra features that aren't necessary)

Lightworks can be a bit tricky to get your head around at first, but they have a forum where basically any problem you could come across is answered and tutorial videos

Like once a month it says "your free trial has expired" but it's literally just a thing where you have to log in again and everything is where you left it :)
