Best Dragon On Youtube
I have a friend who has really strong opinions (which isn't always a bad thing) and I was hanging out with her the other day and she shared her views on youtube channels. (her not knowing that I have a channel)

1. 'Stupid Usernames'
She honestly thinks that every channel should be their full name and not stuff like 'danisnotonfire', 'kickthepj' or 'AmazingPhil'
I disagree with this. Some people don't really want their full names on the internet and sometimes it's easier to remember something cooler like 'danisnotonfire'
Also a flaw in her plan is that she went to to say that she was fine with the username 'ItsKingslyBitch' because it's 'how you would talk'. I don't see how it is different to 'kickthepj' at all

2) 'There's no point until your 16'
She says that no one wants to watch people under the age of 16 because 'they wont be taken seriously'. She also thinks that younger people have nothing interesting to volg about apart from making toast. WHO HAS EVER MADE A VIDEO OF THEMSELVES MAKING TOAST?!?!?! (actually I think I have an idea for my next video. (we can make this like a tag, the toast tag))
I disagree with this because if you do start now you will have an audience for when you 'get taken seriously'. Also I see loads of under 16s making cool vlogs and never once have I seen anyone make toast.

3) 'All gaming videos get tons of views'
Especially minecraft. She thinks that all minecraft videos get tonnes of views and that all gaming channels have tonnes of subscribers.
I feel as if I cannot comment on the minecraft videos because I do not make/watch them but I feel like I can comment on the subscribers. She doesn't have a channel so she doesn't know how hard it can be to get one off the ground and get subscribers. I feel as it is even more hard to get started if you are a gaming channel because there are so many others like you trying to do the same thing.

They are just her opinions and my thoughts on them.

Two comments to this;
1. Using your full name on youtube isn't always always a good thing. A lot of channels aren't just single people doing videos, they are a brand. That would never work for something like RoosterTeeth, or Film Riot (or Rip the Script :D ) I honestly don't usually like when people just use their names as their username.
2. I like the toast thing, it could be huge :P[DOUBLEPOST=1375877793,1375877723][/DOUBLEPOST]
It is true though, all gaming videos get tonnes of views! Look at my most recent video for example, a whopping 5 views!

Haha 'gamers get tons of views'
I have spent 8 months on getting 15 to 20 views on average on a video :P
So yeah......
And i agree with you that nicknames instead of real names are better to remember and i personally just don't want to use my real :P (half the english people can't prenounce it)
