My channel lost 50,000 views overnight

Hi,

So I'm more than a little confused as to why this would happen. I've never used any bots to get views of my videos. Only Facebook, Google Plus, and my website, so I've no idea how my channel has lost 50,000 views. The stats for the video remain the same as well, it's only the channel that has lost views. Any ideas? Has this happened to anyone else?
It probably just needs to update. I've seen before where I have X amount of views for a day, then later on that day is suddenly 0 views, then later it switches back again.

Does this happen to everyone?

Well it happens to other people, but I don't know about everyone.

When this sort of thing happens, my first reaction is to check the SocialBlade stats for some other bigger channels. I've just done it and they're all showing negative views for Friday 12th February. Example: pewdiepie "lost" 3.5 million views - http://socialblade.com/youtube/user/pewdiepie

Conclusion: Looks like YT are auditing views. Or it's a glitch. It happens quite often. In most cases, they get added back on again a few hours or days later. In a few cases, the views remain deleted, (usually because they weren't considered "real views" by YouTube.)

Perhaps it's removing self views? Or the other suggestions may have happened as well. My analytics say I have 3,484 lifetime views, but on my about section on my channel it displays 2,907 views. It bothered me too lol but we'll see what happens

FYI all, I've merged the view count drops threads into this one as it seems to be a common event today.

Man, my lifetime analytics show a little more than 1 million views more than my total channel views. But I've deleted videos and made a lot of them unlisted.
