Some of these replies are overkill for simple vlogs. We just need to hear what your saying.
Since you already have a camera lets just attach a mic to the camera

Not all DSLRs have mic inputs and if they do.. most suck. Good audio can and will make or break a video. Even for simple vlogs

She just said she has cannon 400D (Which supports phantom power)
also OP is debating on getting a 700D Which also has phantom power support. And even if it did not, shotguns that run a battery will also support phantom power.
Both of which dslr mic inputs do not "Suck" but are not top end pro you are right about that
Finally, a dlsr that does not do audio also does not do video. Unless its some china knock off. You will be hard pressed to find a DSLR that does video with no mic input.

I personally use the blue snowball mic, but recently I found out you can get good quality by simply recording voice notes on your iphone and attaching it to your video! The \quality is actually not bad!

I said you would be hard pressed to find some that do not have this feature. As you have spent some time finding a few you only strengthen my statement? Yet your response seems very hostile, or im getting that vibe. A simple search for cannon t5 audio jack microphones or cannon's t5 specs will disprove your statement
Point:
-You do not need a shotgun $500 microphone with phantom drive to get sound acceptable for vlogs
-Most dslrs have a audio input (LIKE THE CANNON T5) unless its a china knock off, as you have discovered it is difficult to find one that does video and does not have a audio jack or xlr
-as i said before there are a few out there that dont, but its hard to find one.

Bluesnowballs are good for their price, kinda quite but just bump up the volume in editing 
As for the camera mics, ive had so many but eventually tried out the rode videomic pro
and its the best i could find, all the others have a hiss in the background but that one works perfectly for me saving to get one now... their kinda pricey

I have the 700D/t5i currently and I find that the stereo mic that's built in is really quite decent. I haven't had many problems with it so far. I don't have any recommendations for USB mics, but do make sure that when you edit, you are editing your audio as well as your video. My software has a built-in audio editing board that lets me enhance my audio, louden/soften, remove background and tech noises, etc. So that definitely helps not having an external mic to make the audio a bit more professional sounding in the meantime.

No, the T5 doesn't have an audio jack. The T5i(700D) does. The lack of an external microphone port is an issue relating primarily to the budget versions of these cameras and has nothing to do with Chinese knock-offs. If you're going to slam someone with the classic "simple search" kind of comment, you should at least look into it first. To take that a bit further, the new unreleased T6s looks like it won't have an audio port either while the T6i will. Same trend, budget versus otherwise.
Internal DSLR mics are always poor and there is nothing wrong with someone wanting better audio quality. The concept of "good enough" is one of personal standards, and some people set the bar higher than others. That said, anyone who plans to use autofocus EVER while recording with a DSLR had better not rely on the internal mic unless they like machine noise. Autofocus is nice and loud to that poor little internal mic.
To the OP.
The rode shotgun mics are decent for the purpose, but I think for a basic vlog style a lavalier mic may be a better choice for when you get the 700D(T5i). It will depend on how much moving around you plan to do though. If you're just standing still, then either a base shotgun mic or a lavalier (SMartlav+ for example) would be a good choice. If you're going to move around, then frankly, you probably need a second person to position the mic for you as you're going. With a lav, you just need to be really careful not to touch it or have flowing clothing that might brush against it because that will introduce noise into the recording.
