Massive drop in views on kid channels

Want a preview of what kids will be watching on Youtube? Wonder why your new kid videos don't get suggested or promoted like they used to? Wonder what Youtube is suggesting to these kid viewers? My daughter's Youtube app on her tablet suggested this beauty today and away she clicked. A whopping four million views. I wonder how many of those came from kids? Youtube spokesperson, "we changed the algorithm to suggest more educational and quality content." Youtube engineer, "we did?" If young adults find this entertaining, God help our future world. This is the epitome of of how low human beings will go for money.

FTC kids will be watching this since there won’t be any more good content.

Traffic from within YouTube that doesn't fall in any other category, such as views from Partner promotions, or the dashboard.

Or some browsers that youtube can't track.
 
Who else has the same problem where new videos dont even get into suggested anymore? I am not sure if they just placed filters on all new kid videos and review one at a time. It's never been like this before

That sounds like a channel that has been reviewed manually and "shadow banned". I've seen this happen with channels before and it's usually permanent

I think there is a shadow ban on topics like learn colors, numbers, daddy finger etc

Peppa Pig used to add in their titles CARTOONS FOR KIDS now they removed it from all their cartoons and tags jsut use words like pig, peppa etc nothing about kids. I wonder if they will be getting a special treatment in 2020

I have simply come to the conclusion that Youtube is incapable of managing this situation. Their reliance on a computer algorithm is a fatal flaw that renders them completely inept at dealing with content directed at children. They know that children are addicted to the platform and will watch whatever the algorithm suggests without regard to any standard or adherence to any law. The views and ads will continue by young children watching content designed for an older audience and Youtube's changes will give them plausible deniability. I do not trust Youtube as a creator and I do not trust them to suggest content to my children. Youtube has utterly failed with kids content.
 
Correct. Requiring the content creator to declare if their video is for kids or not is removing liability from YouTube. And the other bit is the AI. I'm sure that's to show FTC that things are being done to enforce these rules.

In the field of mobile applications, we also check the age range of our applications, and nothing has changed in 2 years, I still have the same income.

what about targeted ads? Will youtube substitute them with regular contextual ads?
