All 3rd party channels are meant to be affiliate, that was the original meaning.
Being so, some MCNs don't even have a managed CO.
And COs without an MCN can't get an affiliate CO and just have managed because all their channels are meant to be theirs and not 3rd party.
Whether YouTube is likely to crack down on MCNs for using managed for alot of channels is another matter although they might as it pretty much obstructs what they brought in the policy to do.
