Making the most of a Canon T3

You will be better off with soft boxes to film indoors, they have a much better effect and the light isnt as sharp or hard
check out soft boxes on amazon, i remember i was gonna buy 2 for £80 before

Oh ok.. I wish everything wasnt so expensive >_<

What about a:

Pixco Flash Diffuser Universal Interface Soft Box Softbox Cover for SB800 bzd?

(Thats a mouthful...)[DOUBLEPOST=1376660648,1376660574][/DOUBLEPOST]

What about this one?

new universal studio soft box flash diffuser canon nikon sony pentax

Its going for £5 :D

you will want something more like this

it will light up the whole area and having 2 placed correctly it helps get rid of shadows and dark spots, a camera mounted soft box wont really be anywhere near as effective

Yeah I was about to say scrap the 2 post I just posted. There just accessories. But that £60 ;( Do you think it could be a lil cheaper?

With a lot of that cheap lighting you often get what you pay for, sometimes you get food deals..
Put Magic Lantern or your camera :)

I'm saving up for a x2 set lighting soft box.. That'll make an improvement? It's also £60
And magic lantern? Is that jailbreaking but for camera? I heard about it once...

Make your own DIY softboxes, for a start. :)

Also, invest some money in lenses. I don't know what stuff you're into. For vlogging then prime lens. For shooting sketches I'd go with zoom lens (but since you already have one, you shouldn worry too much about zooms). If your budget is low 50 mm f/1.8 should do the job. If you have more money, go with something better.

Also, tutorials my friend. Learn, learn and learn. You'll be surprised how great your camera can perform. For video I suggest Vimeo Video School. If you're also interested in photography check out Digital Photography 1 on 1 (/user/snapfactory)

I Just got a 50mm for £30... On ebay... So now im gonna save up for a softbox for £60

30 pounds? Sounds like a good deal to me. Btw, if you're planning to record covers I suggest buying a microphone first (if you don't have one already). Softboxes may improve your video quality a bit, but it's more important to have clear sound wihtout any electronic sounds of your camera. If you're mostly into just singing buy a shotgun mic (Rode Videomic Pro is probably the best one). If you plan to include other singers or instruments you should definitely get a stereo microphone or recorder (something like Zoom H1).
