Maker doesn't really assist in promoting your content though. If it doesn't hold monetary value then why would they take a chance?

Nope, sure - but the thing is; if a channel is relatively new with only a few views, then they (the network) have no proof that the channel owner is willing to work for success, and if the channel is pretty old with only a bunch of views, then the channel owner has either A) not worked hard enough, or B) made s****y content (or at least content not many wish to watch)Ok, you´re right on that but having no views doesnt mean that the content is s****y
(or both)It takes work "getting out there" and if a channel owner is not willing to do his part, then he is not a great investment - and as stated a couple of times: Networks are not there as guardian angels, trying to bring you fame and fortune; they are making investments, trying to make money for themselves.
