I just clicked the option for only one year. So right now I only own the domain for one year. If I want a second year I have to renew it and pay for it and hopefully find a coupon code to make it cheaper.

Use Namecheap and not GoDaddy. Godaddy are a terrible shady company.

I just have a VPS with WordPress and a few other things installed so eh. You did a good job doing it so cheap though.
