Losing Drive To Do Youtube

Hey everyone,
Just thought I'd get some things off of my chest......I haven't had the drive to do Youtube in quite some time. I just feel like it's SO much work, putting the make up on, setting up the lights and camera, filming it, editing it, uploading it. I have 3 kids and I find it really hard to just..stay on top of everything. Yes, they are in school now, but I still have a 4 year old at home. I haven't written a song in ages :( I tried the other day, and just..nothing came out. I have no intentions of quitting Youtube at all, but it's definitely on the back burner right now. I feel bad about this, as I know a few new people have subscribed to me, and I've had very loyal subscribers for quite some time. I don't have many, but I certainly appreciate the ones I do have. Anyways, thanks for reading. This has been a post I've been wanting to post for quite some time. Anyone else feel like they're losing drive?

Maybe taking a small break is good for you. That's one of the advantages of running your owning channel. You have no signed contract obligating you to do so many videos per month. Take a breather and when the inspiration hits you, you'll probably be doing even better videos than ever before.

I just decided to do my own original content 3 days ago (before I made fan videos on my old channel). So, I didn't lose my spirit.

I don't feel like I am right now(though school work is causing an issue), but I have before. I completely understand where you're coming from having no inspiration to make a video. It sucks :/ It's similar to being an artist, just work through it, try, and time will eventually fix it up.

I can relate to being pulled every which way. I think the biggest obstacle of all is time. But I have found that if you eliminate all sleep from your schedule, you will open up a lot more time for YouTube. And in your case, the lack of sleep will take your song-writing in a very different direction!
How have you been? :) Still in LA??

Screw the views, your mental state is more important then getting views. Just do what makes you happy
Lol....thanks.....yeah, I guess so :) I have a song that's been ready since forever....just haven't made a video for it yet :/

Just started this account and i am full of inspiration!
Well that's good to hear! :)[DOUBLEPOST=1411382707,1411382466][/DOUBLEPOST]

Thanks! Let's hope so haha.

That's good :) Hope you keep it up!

I hope you're right hehe.

Ive been feeling like this a lot recently.
I also have 3 young children, and a full time job. Considering a video for me can take between 1 day to 2 weeks to produce due to the testing/filming/editing time etc involved , sometimes Im working on a video and feel guilt that Im not spending that time with my children.
My solution? Work even harder!!
Seriously!

I went through a month or so of working solid. Took some time off of work and just got my head down and produced a good 20-odd videos. I have the videos uploaded, and everything ready, but I didnt make them public. I still have around 14 or so unreleased since I only release a new video once every 4-5 days. As a result, I now have enough to keep my channel going with fresh content for my viewers for another couple of months at least - and as my viewers get regular content they notice no different.

At the moment Im turning away companies who want reviews created, or asking them to check back in a month or two. Although this sounds bad, from the companies point of view, it looks like Im very popular and they end up wanting that reviw done even more so, and tend to contact me again in a month or two!!

I can now use this time to chill out a little and spend that time with my kids. Dont get me wrong, I do still make the odd video here and there if I need to. If its something really interesting, or something that I know is going to be big - working on an iPhone 6 video at the moment for example - but this way I can be more relaxed about it as I know I still have new content going out regardless.

In my example, the only downside is companies have to wait for their review to go public when they want it public straight away. I theerfore tell them that videos are released on a schedule, to make it fair on all other companies, and to ensure each video gets maximum exposure. lol. Thats usally enough to keep them happy!!

Everyone's a winner!

Hey Katzie, my beautiful friends.

Maybe you might stop making ze videos for a while, get back your perspiration ... I mean inspiration ... and return...

BUT, don't you dare stop making music, I keeeel you if you do. Even zhough you're kinda immortal now, still, I re-keel you.

Anyvays, take a break if you need to, but I strongly recommend taking ze brain of a silly mortal instead, not very useful, but yummy!

Hugs x 1000

Ugh, no fun not to feel motivated. I've only been on YouTube a short time so I haven't started to burn out at all but I definitely get burned out in other areas of my life. Just remind yourself that it's a long term play to be successful. Keep up the hard work and it will pay off eventually. I'm sure of it!
