Lack of Channel views since switch to new layout?

Yeah, both VSX and SocialBlade showed my channel views dropping off a cliff into nothing. I really hope that there's a hotfix to this (the preview thing and the lacking of channel views thanks to it) soon because that's a big hit for a lot of people.

Yeah its kinda annoying, my video views haven't been badly affected at all though so I'm hoping it may be a counting problem.

You know, I was really hoping the new subboxes would increase our video views. Boy was I wrong.....

And channel views are droping too. Stupid YouTube

The reason for the drop is because of the size of the player on your channel page and the lack of autoplay for subscribers. People still watch the videos, but they click on the video to and watch from the video page instead, so it no longer counts as a channel page view. Since we've been on the new layout(about 35 days), our views per day have gone up by around 25% while the channel page views have dipped from representing 10% of our daily views to about .1% of those views.

Thanks for the information I appreciate it, your views per day increasing by 25% is very promising.

I would not attribute much of our gain to the new layout. As only 10% of our views came from our channel page, it would take a 100% increase to yield a 10% overall gain, so realistically, a 2-3% gain would be a likely number based on a 20-30% increase in clicks from the channel page. Optimistic, but probably a very accurate number based on what we've seen from the videos featured on the page.

Ahh I see, still, any increase is good! many thought it would kill video views

my channels only 2 weeks old but Channel Views were 112 for the day I switched and yesterday 69. However, I also only had 203 daily video views the day I switched and yesterday it was at 367 nearly double the daily views. But like I said my channel is only 2 weeks old and I don't think stats gathered over a few days is anywhere near enough data to make any long-term judgements.
