Isn't it easier to go FULL-TIME on Youtube when your only making $12.00 and hour

YouTube is a pipe dream.

This.

YT is an extremely poor career choice. YT is not an employer. YT does not pay you for the work that YOU put in. YT pays you for the watchtime that OTHERs spend to watch your videos. YOUR pay depends on OTHERS. It doesn't matter how much you work on your videos - you could spend your whole lifetime - it is OTHERS that ultimately determine how much you get paid, if anything at all.

YT is a lottery.

I couldn't make the same on YouTube that I make elsewhere if I wanted to, I'd have to be making Pewdiepie money and that's not going to happen. So no, I'm not interested, I don't care about YouTube monetization because I'm inherently advertiser unfriendly, I really don't even care about Patreon. If I make anything, fine. If not... that's fine too.

The Youtube adpocalypse, is what would worry me.
You never know when something like this could happen again and change the game
and your revenue.

Dude 12$ an hour is like 10€ an hour.
I'm from east Slovakia you know how much I was getting paid before I left my last job?? 2,25€ an hour that is something like 2,70$ an hour.. I would delete my YT channel for 12$ (10€) an hour actually. (yep east Slovakia sucks, but there are even worse countries so whatever..)

So my answer is NO. Don't leave that job. Do both. Maybe if you had like 50 000 subs it would be different. But with 600 subs it is not a good idea. Sorry.

It's a nice dream, and a good goal. You can achieve it if you truly put in the effort.

My poop baby stage channel used to give me $20 a month, which isn't bad! Nothing to live off of, of course. It's a start!

No matter what you choose, it's great to have a backup plan. Such edgy people here lol.

Man it's all up to you, I'd wait, and have a job waiting in the background. See about advertising, as I hear youtube can be PTW.

I totally agree that we all need to take risks in order to achieve great things, however I would be strongly suggestive to realize and make sure you have a strong enough of a foundation not only to guarantee you have a stable income from youtube, but you also have enough saved up JUST IN CASE, something bad where to happen. Always have a back up 'plan' even if it is a sum of money that you have amounted and saved prior to quitting your job.

I believe that having big goals and pushing for them will help you get closer to your dreams. I also think that as much as we all have the potential to succeed, we need to be realistic and analyse our own situations and circumstances. I would suggest having a plan before quitting your iob and given a certain time that has passed review whether it is possible to live on YouTube alone. Money isn't everything but we do need it to get by. Good luck and all the best :)
