Isn't it easier to go FULL-TIME on Youtube when your only making $12.00 and hour!!!

Hello I have just over 600 subscribers
Don't you think i would be easier for me to go Full time on YouTube
Given the fact I only make $12.00 and hour??!!
I being really serious here, I'm at the point i hate my job and once I start earning a paycheck from my chatting channel once I can make enough to replace the current (really awesome job I had) I'm going to make the switch!

So give this information should I focus on getting my subscriber base to 1,000 and then work on my 4,000 watch hours?
What do you think?
Please leave me a comment

It is a big risk of course. But sometimes we must take risks.
I think it would be wise to save some cash first to cover all home/car/lifestyle costs for at least 3 months - maybe even 6 months.
I do earn a good amount from YT (Over $2000/month) - Not enough for me to quit my day job (I do also have quite a good day job - roughly $35/hour). But I do wonder what would happen if I put 'full time' hours into my channels rather than the odd couple of hours per week.

So your question re focusing on either 1000subs/watched hours - I would'nt focus on either of these. I would just focus on the best regular content you can put out. Subs/watch time will come naturally if the content is good.

EVO
Your a good friend
And I promise NOT to do anything reckless
But remember I make 1/3 of what you make
So for me this is a conceivable goal.

1000 subs / 4000 hrs is only to get monetized. Assuming $1/1000 views, you'd need 12000 views/hr consistently to equal you current pay.

I'd say finding a better paying job is significantly easier and more likely than earning a living off YT.
I agree with this guy that finding a better job would be easier than making enough money on youtube to live off of. Even once you get monetized that doesn't mean it's alot of money. Yes everyones living expenses are different, buuuuut yeah I would shoot for a better job first while you keep working on your channel. Sometimes risks pay off but i think taking that risk should be help off till you make at least enough from youtube to live off of BEFORE you quit your job. People don't leave their current job for another job unless they already have it, because that is honestly a not a smart way of risking things

Mark - If you went YT Full Time - how many hours per day would you be working on content? How many more videos could you publish?

I don't think preferring YouTube over a job is a good reason to quit the job. You'd need to be certain that Youtube is going to earn you at least the same amount as your job before even considering it. What percentage of your living expenses are you currently earning with YouTube? Imagine the pressure you would be under if you quit your job and you were earning something like 60 cents per day from YouTube.
