You are far from correct on any point here. You really underestimate how big technology companies are these days. Facebook is now more valuable than Coca Cola. That is how big they are. They have money for days. Google, Microsoft, Facebook and Amazon own the internet. They have money forever. Unreal amounts. We only know what they want us to know regarding assets. Each of these companies have more power than any country has, which is why they get away with paying no tax etc.
Also I am not a fan of VR yet, but the fact of the matter is that it is huge business and Facebook own the most known branded one out there. Occulus rift. Also think of all these sites that have integration in with Facebook. Unless you are huge like Twitter this doesn't come free, even then I would be unsure. Take Candy Crush for example, they will have paid royalties to Facebook for the integration, yes it is past its sell by date, but despite that has just been bought for $5.9 billion by Activision (see above for what I think of their future). Just think how much Facebook made off that company just through the fact that it was integrated with Facebook. This is a game that not many people play anymore and still worth $5.9 BILLION due to the fact it became huge through its integration with Facebook. Without that integration and "free" advertisement it would have never been as succesful. That is how powerful Facebook is. A match 3 game that is already unfashionable bought for $5.9 BILLION. Let that sink in. (Yes I know they bought king which is the company who made it not just Candy Crush, but everyone knows that is why they bought it). Just once more though, $5.9 BILLION! For a Bejewelled rip off.
