Is YouTube Dying?

Facebook will not die out anytime soon, but it will die out (the site itself) and if not die out it will change dramatically. I don't believe the company will go down for a long time, I mean unless something really ****** up happens it will be alright. Them owning instagram adds to their business but may/may not take away from Facebook itself.
Integration only adds to the model. Facebook has its place in the world now. It's like asking will Coca Cola ever die with any of these huge franchises. Also I don't think there is much to add to social media now, it has kind of reached its pinnacle which is another reason for me. Only next step I can see is VR calls which Facebook will be first to bring to table either way. While Microsoft are developing hololense which will lead to hologram calls. This is the problem, they own all the tech. Like Google do with Youtube.

With YouTube's new paid subscription service, they are doing better than they ever have. In the grand scheme of things, copyright issues and things like that are minor compared to the crazy success that they have been having.

Coke has many more assets than Facebook does, its doesn't make sense to compare the 2. I don't know much about VR but I think the VR headset they have no are just the start, will I be buying one, no but if you think about actual virtual reality ie. tron then you would come to the conclusion for something like tron to actually occur where you are in a video game or film etc. they will have to come up with these headsets first. I think we are a long ways away from actual VR if ever.[DOUBLEPOST=1459804310,1459804166][/DOUBLEPOST]

Oh yeah YouTube Red. I heard every user with 3+ million subs partnered with YouTube were forced to sign with YouTube Red or else all of their videos would be privated. Google and its trickery.

Really? That seems super sketchy to me, and probably like a bad business move because it would drive people to partner with other networks.

They claimed they didn't want to confuse the viewers/future subscribers that their favorite youtubers content may be on youtube but not youtube red or some s**t[DOUBLEPOST=1459804586,1459804543][/DOUBLEPOST]Google says the goal is to offer consistency, so people thinking about subscribing to Red don’t have to worry about their favorite content not being available in the ad-free service.

Sounds like a mess to me. But I'm sure they are making tons of money off it.

You are far from correct on any point here. You really underestimate how big technology companies are these days. Facebook is now more valuable than Coca Cola. That is how big they are. They have money for days. Google, Microsoft, Facebook and Amazon own the internet. They have money forever. Unreal amounts. We only know what they want us to know regarding assets. Each of these companies have more power than any country has, which is why they get away with paying no tax etc.

Also I am not a fan of VR yet, but the fact of the matter is that it is huge business and Facebook own the most known branded one out there. Occulus rift. Also think of all these sites that have integration in with Facebook. Unless you are huge like Twitter this doesn't come free, even then I would be unsure. Take Candy Crush for example, they will have paid royalties to Facebook for the integration, yes it is past its sell by date, but despite that has just been bought for $5.9 billion by Activision (see above for what I think of their future). Just think how much Facebook made off that company just through the fact that it was integrated with Facebook. This is a game that not many people play anymore and still worth $5.9 BILLION due to the fact it became huge through its integration with Facebook. Without that integration and "free" advertisement it would have never been as succesful. That is how powerful Facebook is. A match 3 game that is already unfashionable bought for $5.9 BILLION. Let that sink in. (Yes I know they bought king which is the company who made it not just Candy Crush, but everyone knows that is why they bought it). Just once more though, $5.9 BILLION! For a Bejewelled rip off.

"You are far from correct on any point here"

Sorry you are such a pedantic ***** and can't just admit you are wrong. Instead of just completely disagreeing with everyone realise you do not know everything. We were talking about assets, Facebook have a higher "net worth" than Coca Cola, they also have more assets. What point are you trying to get across here? You know you were wrong so tried to be smart and failed, just like you have over and over again in this thread. We aren't all perfect and part of growing as a person is to know when we are wrong and learn from it. I suggest you do that. In fact I see nothing wrong with what I put. Facebook as a company is more valuable as it has more net worth which is measured mainly on assets held. Please enlighten me... Or just stop being a troll and coming on here with a view to argue.

Is Youtube dying? No. Reasons stated above. Hope you have an amazing rest of the day.
