Is youtube becoming overcrowded?

It's the personalities and the quality that attracts people I believe. Look at the amount of channels to the amount of viewers as well; I think that the viewers are growing every day as well. So, no, I think it's fine the way it is. Good luck with your channel!

Like anything, you just need to network, market and promote your brand to the top. Everyone is pushing out content, but you can separate yourself by working harder and getting a bigger audience.

Equipment doesn't always make you big. I use pretty mid-level equipment from my photography studio and I'm not blowing up. I know people will full on film crews that are doing pretty well, but not in the top 500 earning channels when they deserve to be.

YT is the most saturated site on the internet. What do you think happens when people know they can publicly upload any video they want. Everything gets done. Vine is the freshest s**t atm.

I think so, considering it will be harder to get noticed, whereas back then it was somewhat easier to get noticed with less effort. I'm not saying it will become impossible, but only harder and less chances of getting noticed.
As far as older youtubers (big ones) "packing" up, I don't really think they truly "packed" up if they become inactive UNLESS they just close down their channel and took down their content, because if their content is around let's say, like 10-15 years from now, those new youtubers will still watch them and their presence will overshadow the new youtubers.
Well at around 2009 most people posted random stuff and others posted professional videos those people who posted good stuff are now the big youtubers. But now I'd say 70% of channels post professional stuff so there's too much choice so everyone just watches the big guys :(
I feel ya, I have the same premonitions that most of the people will gravitate towards the "big guys" :(

That's like saying there's no point in playing sports because I'll never be as good as *Insert famous athlete here* or saying why bother playing Starcraft 2, LoL, Dota 2, CoD, because theres so many good players.

If you have that kinda mindset when you do something, you'll always be disappointed.

Just have fun with your channel, appreciate whatever subs/viewers you do have, and just keep on improving your videos.

Edit: Didn't realize you deleted your channel :/

The world has billions of people and every one of us has a different activity, emotions and experience every day.

We have different opinions to each other and even though we have a lot in common sometimes, just living each day can be random or unexpected.

This will always be true, and so there will always be room for people to share new experiences - YouTube just happens to be a more popular platform for doing so.

Remember! You should be doing this for YOU! Everyone else is just along for the ride, right? People have said it probably better and more than I have, but have fun doing this for yourself! You are the artist! You have just invited people to come and see what you have created! Hey! If they buy it, then great! If not, well it is still your baby! Continue to love it and help it grow!:thumbsup2:
