Is Video Quality Important?

pretty much if you don't have a HD option on your video its not going anywhere although I normally watch 480p since I don't want to waste my internet data watching HD 24/7 ah well. I recently bought a $800 camera which records 1080p 60fps which I used in my latest video but there is no point unless you really want extremely high quality for a short video unless you have extremely good upload speeds pls.

Not exaclty. Most people still watch videos in 480p. And most of the time, the difference between a 480p video and an HD video on YT is unnoticeable. You don´t need an HD video in order to be successful. But it´s always a plus.

Video quality is more important in certain genres than in other genres. I play trading card games and viewers need to see the cards. I shoot my videos in 1080 HD to give my viewers a good experience.

I personally think from most important to least important, I would rank YouTube video production with 1) Content, 2) Editing, 3) Personality 4) Lighting, 5) Audio, 6) Uploading Consistency, 7) Pleasant Filming Location, 8) Thumbnail, 9) Video Image quality, 10) Saving your video in YouTube-Friendly formats, 11) Title, 12) First few lines in description box, 13) Replying to comments, 14) Tags and the rest of the description box, 15) Keeping up with other social media platforms... That said, it's not like my videos are taking off or anything! : P I also watch everything in 480p unless a note pops up telling me to change it to HD. ^^;; My old computer would poop out at 1080, but my current computer works better with viewing videos in HD. I just don't really see the point of watching something in HD unless I need to see the fine details for some reason (some How-To videos need HD so I can see what they are doing a little better.. = / ).

So I would say image quality matters, but not as much as other things! =)

Quality is the number 1 thing anybody will notice when they see your video so I would safely say it is pretty crucial. My eyes are so used to HD now that when I try to watch my favorite old shows that I can only get in standard definition it tends to hurt my eyes now.

Quality is everything. Video quality, content, audio. Anyone that says different is lying in my honest opinion because no one likes watching crap in low definition. Hell even phones a few years olds have 720p screens. If you think differently, change all your content you watch to 480p or lower on every source you watch from.

You have hit a wall all small time YouTubers hit when it comes to their channel quality.

In my opinion I feel like the investment in a camera (not expensive) but a camera that can at least record in 480P. You are correct about video quality turning people off because if click a video and the quality of the audio and the video is bad I will more than liklely exit off UNLESS its something I need to know or find out for example a tutorial which is what you are doing.

I feel like maybe missing out on 1 or 2 videos because you do not have a product is worth it because the viewers come first in my opinion.

Video quality is important and be sure that you'll enhance your videos. But, did pay attention to the sound. If you buy a reflex camera, you should also improve the sound. In any case, if you want to use a reflex camera that's ok, but remenber also to give value to your audience.
