Is there a job similar to YouTube?

At this age I am being pressured to finding out what I want to be when I grow up, the only thing that comes to mind is YouTube. So I was wondering if there is a job that would be similar to being a YouTuber? I do gaming commentary stuff, in case you were wondering.

Well you could become a creative director of some sort. It's not entirely similar to YT but you still use your imagination to create new things so there's on massive element of YT in there. I think you should also look at a wide variety of other jobs and not just say "YouTube" because you might like it now with all the fun because it's not a job for you now. But maybe when your job is YT then you will actually hate it more than anything and regret this choice. So pretty much just look at other stuff as well as YT :P

If you're into competitive gaming, you could be a Call of Duty caster, or another game. If you're interested look at the VP Brothers on youtube or MLG casters. They do commentary for a living, working with machinama so its definitely worth a look :)

I recently applied for a job as the social-media head for our local Credit Union. Sadly, I didn't get the job, but I made it really far into the interview process and they were really impressed with what I had done with our channel. Basically, they were looking for someone to run their social media sites, blog daily and make YouTube videos weekly. It was like a full time job with an normal salary and everything.

Thats pretty cool. As intern I made content for social media advertising and youtube.
So it was a bit similar only someone else made the posts and the reports on views clicks etc.
As freelancer you can get a lot of different jobs. You can also go to big companies with low social media pages and confince them they should let you keep it up to date.
