Is the Christmas season being good with your YT earnings?

Scapestrato

Loving YTtalk
I`m honestly a bit worried as I`m not seeing any particular increase in earnings compared to the previous months, and in the previous years by October I was seeing a spike due to the Christmas season.

What about you?

Mine always climbs during this time of year. Even back when I didn't have much of an audience my best months always came between the months of august-decemember.

It was around this time last year that mine started to grow for Christmas. Im waiting patiently as it has started yet!

Maybe look at the previous years and see if you did anything different around this time of year in terms of content or exposure. There's likely hundreds of reasons why you could possibly not be seeing the growth you expect.

Views are up and RPM is up, but not the usual staggering heights of previous years. I looked back at my November 2014 stats and I was making a RPM of $3 - $4 !! ($3-$4 for every 1000 total views) Crazy money

For RPM are you looking in Adsense or YT Analytics?

YouTube analytics. You have to calculate the RPM manually. But it's the only calculation of RPM that matters. It's the bottom line of how much a thousand views really earns. I never look at adsense numbers because they're never accurate.

In YouTube analytics:

1) Go to overview
2) Select the custom dates as 1st November 2014 - 31st November 2014
3) Note down the number below the "Your estimated revenue" graph (on the right)
4)Divide it by the number under the "views" graph (on the left)
5) multiply by 1000

November 2014 = $3.17
December 2014 = $3.64

I remember the period very well. On some days, it was even over $4 RPM. It really was the YouTube goldrush. *sigh*

I didn't start monetizing until 2015.

Nov 2015 = $0.39
Dec 2015 = $0.46
Nov 2016 = $0.67
Dec 2016 = $0.90
Nov 2017 = $0.51
