Is It Wise To Give Your Subscribers A Nickname?

I have stated before that I don't like being given a name just because I watch or subscribe to a channel. One such person that does have a name for her fans is Olga Kay. I met her at Vidcon and was in a conference and she was a guest speaker. I brought up the subject of naming viewers because I know that she calls her fans Mooshies (or something like that). She said the term came from one of her videos where instead of cussing, she said Moosh. Her viewers started playing with the term and then they called themselves Mooshies.

Personally my subscribers have a name that I came up with, and asked them if they though it was a good name/ if they'd ever like me to use it. The comments on the video were filled with them calling themselves by the name, so I stuck with it.
I didn't make the nickname to degrade them or anything, it was just 'cause I really like the names for fandoms and stuff, and I thought it'd be cool if my subscribers had a name too. The reason I ended up naming them is because they liked it though, it is their name so they really should have a say, whether they came up with the name on their own or not.

I call my subscribers Muffinz. It didn't really happen naturaly. I thought since i am TheMuffinzManz i thought it would only make sense if they would be called the Muffinz. My fanbase didn't really seem to care about it much. But i still feel like i jumped the gun on that one. Well no going back now!
