Is It Wise To Give Your Subscribers A Nickname?

Yeah i do but i don't really start videos with that name so i more just call em that sometimes but not alot.
And yeah it's a good idea cuz it lets the m feel more involved :)

Honestly I feel it’s a bit… cheesy. SlyFoxHound is the only one who I feel can get away with it because he’s actually using a word that describes friends (i.e. friends, comrades, etc.) All the other terms are just made up and it comes across as cheesy as Clay Aiken fans call themselves ‘Claymates’.

I call my subscribers Knights, was a random idea i got along the videos I didn't do it from the first video I waited a long time to call them Knights.

i think its a good thing because i HATE refering to subscribers as "subscribers" "viewers" "fans". but let them figure out a name for themselves...

I say don't do it. Let them coin their own phrase, or pick up on something that naturally comes out of your mouth. Basically by giving them a name without choice you are deciding they are fanatics of your videos. It just feels a bit cult-ish to me.

Agree with Frankie on this. It comes off a little cheesy if you try to coin the name yourself and so much more organic and meaningful if your fans actually do it on their own.

Wait for them to make their own that they accept by vast majority on their own. Then you can creep your way into it very slowly.
