Is it ok to copy YouTubers

So I was inspired by Jontron and NinjaSexParty is it ok to do videos like them. I don't mean copy everything but to start off by using them as a diving board?

Aslong as its not word for word you could use an idea as a starting point and build your own thing.
To be honest what ever you do will most likely be done .

Alfie Deyes (pointlessblog) is a huge YouTuber and his recent content has pretty much JUST been copies of other big YouTubers's videos. Some people have realised and are giving him hate for it as he's gotten a reputation for being "lazy" and not being able to come up with original content anymore. But he's still doing well...

I think being inspired by an idea or even doing the same kind of video/challenge is fine as long as you give that person credit. And as long as it's not every single video!

If you like them and aspire to be like them its OK to produce similar content as them, but try to be as orignal as possible with the way you present it. Use your own opinions. don't mimic them because the people who would view your content would of already seen it from them.

i think thats natural to "copy" or get inspired by others but eventually you will find your own creative voice and way of doing things

As a starting point, yes, it can get you on your feet but once you get to a certain size, it will be a detriment unless you have grown into your own style.

I think it would be okay if you just used a few of their ideas as inspiration, but obviously not to copy everything in a video!
Anyway, it's very likely that whatever video idea you have, there's going to be someone else who's already done a similar video.

It's good to take inspiration from another YouTuber that you like but in the end I would say work on original content but you can still take a bit of inspiration.
