Is gaming TAKING OVER youtube?!?!?

I don't monetize, but even if I did, my channel isn't big enough to provide any real income, I'm sure it would generate less than a dollar a month.

I'm the same; sometimes I imagine other people almost hyperventilating when they read that some of us aren't monetising and are making videos because we can and enjoy doing it! ;)

I guess since gaming has been in our culture for so long and anyone can find the joy in them, it's easier for people to watch? I don't know, it's just an opinion.

YouTube has too much variety for one genre to take over. I, for one, love comedy videos as an example but I do gaming videos! One day, I hope to do comedy skits and become an all-round entertainer on YouTube.

Believe it or not, it's actually kind of impossible to gain subscribers when you are a gaming channel because there are so many users who choose to use that platform. And honestly, a good chunk of them only play Minecraft. While Minecraft can be fun from time to time when you have friends playing with you, it gets so repulsively annoying when it makes up 70% of your suggested channel feed. Unless you have something that hardly anyone else has, your success rate at gaining any subs will be incredibly short fallen for a long time to come until you can actually make a name for yourself on YT.

I think music is the most popular, just think about the views of the big artist. At the second place there has to be the comedy genre. Everybody shares comedy videos from youtube on fb, twitter and instagram to entertain their friends. About the sharing, think about how many people share their favorite music. And maybe, but maybe, gaming takes the bronze medal.

We are, but I think as long as it's not absolutely spammed everywhere, that we can easily control it and keep it to people that want to view gaming channels and such.
