I'll review your gaming channel

Sure, review my channel. Not only could I use the extra view, and potential subscriber, but I could always improve my channel somehow. I would feel most honored if you would review my channel for me. :)

So I watched your first and most recent videos to kind of have a comparison, and I watched a few of your others as well because after all this is a channel review not a video review. So immediately I'd say you have had a good editing system down since the start, I am glad you seemed to quit doing that whole second persona thing because I've seen a lot of newer YouTubers go with this as a way to essentially give the illusion that there's another person commentating and quite simply it's just not nearly as entertaining as ACUTALLY having a second person along for the ride.

Your videos are definitely very involved but one thing that I noticed is that your channel seems to be all over the place, I see how to videos, I see regular lets plays, I see interactive gameplays, I see music. This for me is just too much for a single channel to focus on all at once, when I subscribe to a channel I do it to watch what I expect from that channel, and with your channel I don't know what to expect next. This can be either good or bad depending on who you ask but for me it's just not my kick at all.

The majority of your videos seem to have pretty good titles, I think the thumbnails could sometimes use more attention though, I notice some of your thumbnails are well done and others just look like a stock picture with text over it, which really is a shame because that means I know you're capable of better you just aren't giving it 100% every time.

As far as your commentary is concerned, I think you get really into your videos which is a good thing, I like how you tend to explain the objective of your video before just getting into it, it helps clear up what I am actually looking at since you tend to do a lot of edits and cutaways.

Ultimately I think you should just focus on less things at once and put more attention on specific things so your channel can actually be identified as a specific channel type and not categorized as many different genres, this should allow you to get out more content without having to keep up with 4 or 5 different series' at once.[DOUBLEPOST=1453060362,1453059648][/DOUBLEPOST]

Alright, obviously you already know you need shorter content, it's really tedious to stick around on a video for 30+ minutes and to stay interested in it the entire time, it's a rookie mistake and obviously you said you're new so it's expected. Another rookie mistake is not giving titles and thumbnails the credit that they deserve. In the titles of your videos I notice I have to read 5-6 words before I even know what the specifics of the video are, I would suggest ALWAYS putting the eye-catching/informative piece prior to the misc. info. So if it's an episode on fallout 4, and say in this episode the main theme of the episode would be 2 deathclaws fighting each other, I would prefer to see it written as "Death claw deathmatch" followed by "Ame plays fallout4 ep.x" instead of the other way around. This way people an instant idea of what the video will contain beforehand, it might sound like a very minor thing, but you might be surprised how much of a different it makes to emphasize the content of the video over the actual game itself.

That leads me onto the next point, the thumbnails. Taking a thumbnail for granted is like asking people not to even check your video out to begin with. It's important to remember that the majority of people who view your content are likely people who aren't subscribed to you already, and the idea is to attract as many people to your video as you can, and if they're not already subscribed then the 2 things that will convince them to check you out are your titles and your thumbnails, so try putting more "flashy" advertising for your videos to make people know they want to watch the video before they even know what it contains.

Thanks for this, I really appreciate it, it's nice to get advice like this.
For the titles, I've changed them around a few times, because I was reading other threads on here about branding, so I had Ame Plays in them all etc. and adding the console and things like that, I'll try your suggestion now and reverse what I have there :)
The thumbnails break my heart, I'm really bad at things like that, and I've actually put so much work into the ones that are there. But they are something that I'm constantly working on and hopefully with the combination of these and the title we can up viewers :D

Hey it would be cool if you could review my channel whenever you have the time.

I'm pretty new, I started in November but I think a review early on would help me a lot. I do mostly Let's Plays so far with the acceptation of a few gaming videos that don't follow a "Let's Play" style. And my intentions as a YouTuber is to be funny and enjoyable for people to watch.

Most of my videos have been done in pretty much the same style aside from my don't starve together videos which were intended to be funny fail videos.

I have an outro/call to action at the ends of my videos, but I have no intro yet. But I'm working on ideas for one.

What do you think of my banner and icon?

is my audio okay? not to loud or quite?

I'm on the fence about my description, its detailed but I worry it might be to long and unorganized.

What do you think of my commentary?

any suggestions are welcome.

and don't worry about me getting butthurt, I would like to grow my channel some more and that'll never happen if no one tells me if I'm doing a crappy job with something.

thanks. :)

Heyo, thanks for asking for a review it's nice to see people wanting to improve.

So immediately I notice you clearly have taken quick action to fix the #1 error that most new youtubers make and that is making crazy long videos. I personally upload specific games like DST & Undertale at 30 minutes but that's because my viewers requested it, otherwise it would be crazy to do it because when people don't already know they want to see those kinds of videos from you they usually hesitate to even begin watching them, so I noticed that your more recent content has been cut down to 15 minutes at the most, which believe me you will be happy you did that sooner rather than later.

I noticed you've already gotten into some collaborations, that's always good, sometimes it's easier to make entertaining content when you have people to interact with and feed off of each others energy.

Your audio is pretty good, all in all it's hard to really say a whole lot about someone who mainly uploads the kinds of games that you do, because of the nature of those games it is rare that you would cut footage out, so to suggest that would be ridiculous. Something I DID notice however is that your mouse cursor is in your videos, now tbh this was something I was guilty of doing myself until about a month ago so really I can't say much, but the sooner you get rid of that the better, it really does look bothersome and just unprofessional in a matter of speaking, whichever recording software you use there should be an option to disable the mouse, which I personally recommend doing unless vision of the mouse is absolutely necessary.

I know you've obviously only been making videos for about a month now, but I would suggest maybe either having more variety in your content or just simply slow down a little. There's no shame in taking things slowly at the beginning, in fact I find new YouTubers who upload a ton of content to begin with tend to get burned out pretty quickly because they feel bummed that their channel isn't doing as well as they'd like, despite all the uploading that they're doing, of course that is more of a suggestion than criticism, you can upload as often as you feel necessary.

Other than that the only other thing I can really suggest is working a bit more on your thumbnails, they seem a little unstandoutish, yes, that is not a word I know, but I think you get what I mean by that.

Other than those things I think you're actually off to a pretty awesome start considering how new you are to making videos, keep up the awesome work!

Your channel obviously focusses on cs:go, I would hope you plan to expand in the future as CS:GO is probably one of the most oversaturated games on the youtube gaming market atm right below CoD & Minecraft. Also I noticed you have opted to go a montage route without any commentary and just a music overlay. It's really not my place to say whether that is good or bad, but I know that I personally don't care for those sorts of videos.

I noticed in your most recent video you fixed the next thing I was going to criticize which was your intro, it was far too long, but obviously in your most recent content you fixed that.

With your video style and length, I think it's likely that your videos will get good views but probably not a lot of subscribers from them, people who watch this sort of stuff tend to watch the video and then click over to the next guys'.[DOUBLEPOST=1453452020,1453451147][/DOUBLEPOST]
It would be great if you could check mine out!

I looked at your channel for a bit, the first thing I noticed is that this is obviously not your first channel.

Looking through your videos I realized you like to stick to one thing at a time, you played around with rocket league updates for a little, moved over to BO3 and then went on to FIFA. Personally I think this is a bad move because most people who subscribe to a channel that does long streaks of the same game tend to want to watch THOSE games, so when you change titles you could have people leaving because they aren't getting the content that they want. You would hope they would inform you of this in the comments, but usually they will just unsub or simply stop watching giving you the impression that they still do.

Your uploads seem to be relatively frequent, but I noticed gaps in your uploading, some going for multiple weeks, this is another reason why you may have subscribers who no longer view your content, people like scheduled uploads that fit into their routine, breaking that usually puts them in the position to just go watch someone elses content instead. Not saying you need to upload daily, just keep it consistent

Yeah i know about the commentary.I want do do commentaries but my pc don't allow me.When i start to record my fps is getting really low and i can't play like that.I am going to upgrade it because of that an the recording to be with more fps like normal.I did a lot of rework on my channel like my banner, avatar, thumbnails.I changed a lot of it till i make it better.Right now with my pc i have no other options.I can do mainly montages for now.I did make a lot of changes in thr videos too like the intros mainly.Well im still in the beginning of my channel and it's normal to have these kind of issues because i am still figuring out what i want to make and keep doing it.
