If I could make youtube better I would?

Personally, I think that if youtube pays more attention to lower channels, meaning 50,000 subscribers or less accounts who are active and put 1+ videos a week, then we can all be much happier. I have been invited to many youtube things such as creator and google office. but I noticed most of the youtubers invited had at least 200,000 subscribers, IM LIKE " Yo they don't need help," at 100,000 you get offers from companys to sell their products or talk about their products. so.... Yeah I would love for youtube to help smaller tubers.

See, google is still a company. They rely off selling their product (advertisement) and making as much money as possible. This is why they naturally cater towards the bigger channels because they are getting more money from it, growing their company.

Certainly my friend, but google is big enough to think of the future, these top youtubers will be beat one day, as in someone will pass them remember fred? how everyone thought he would be king forever? he was passed, then nigahiga, then rwj then smosh, i don't know if anyone will beat pewdiepie but i would infest in the small ones as well so that i can make money on the new commers and the top channels.

It's funny but Youtube renews itself. There's a cycle to it you can say. Youtube doesn't need to help out smaller youtubers because there will always be those small youtubers that grow and replace bigger, worn out youtubers. And without the help of youtube.

I swear to god I see this same type of thread every day.

YouTube doesn't have to give a s**t about small channels. You're not bringing anything new to the table, the reason the big channels are big is because they pioneered and revolutionized the style that all smaller channels are using.

You get big by being original, why waste your money on small channels that are doing the same damn thing every upload?

Calm down buddy, this is just for simple discussion :) no need to be sour. I personally think it would be a good idea to help smaller youtubers the number one reason is. PewDiePie is number one, yet i can name 1000 youtubers who are so much more better than him in everyway, whos content puts effort and joy into their work, whereas pewbs can make a video about a donkey humping a turtle and it would get 5 m views, or he can make a video about using a product he doesnt even use and bam so people who actually work on youtube that puts in money for equipment, time and effort, need to be helped to get noticed, with the millions of videos everyday its hard to get noticed, i think they should have a section for smaller youtubers. thats all im not saying youtube should ONLY focus on smaller youtubers im saying they should help them its only an opinion

That's the big conundrum of YT isn't it? The biggest channels grew out of small channels, but at the moment they're also the ones earning the most money.

I do not disagree at all that there needs to be some way for YouTube to put some oomph into boosting up smaller channels, I'm just
at a loss as to exactly what it would be that would do that.

Actually, I'm a liar. I can think of one thing, but I don't know how to implement it. It would essentially be to rank channels by ratios of view/likes/retention and then group them by category and subscriber count. Channels under 1000 subs, under 10,000 or whatever would go together, and if you're watching videos of one of those channels then the suggestions would be from the same "box" rather than constantly pushing towards the mega channels. After all, someone browsing small channels probably already knows about the big ones and WANTS something new.

Basically Youtube and Google want to become the next television. They hope that Youtube gradually attracts top production companies currently signed up with TV networks and release content directly onto Youtube. There's billions of dollars, shareholders and stock price to consider. You've got to start looking at Youtube more like a business, including your own channel.

But maybe they could do a small showcase section for small channels - that wouldn't be too hard for them. But then there's a subsequent issue of what is considered "Good" is entirely subjective - even if Youtube start promoting smaller channels there'd be no garuntee they'd promote your channel - there are SOOO many channels out there. Hundreds of thousands of people wanting to be a Youtube sensation? How do you sort through them?

If I could make youtube better I would?

Better for who? Better for me? Then I would transfer 1 cent to my bank account every time someone watches a random vid.

This is an iffy topic because this is a game of outdoing each other. You have thousands of gamers who think they are good at what they do, thousands of comedians that think they are funny, so you want YT to help build certain people/channels? It's impossible in this game bro. That's why Fred and all those people rose to the top, they were on another level/originators. I agree with Pew uploading, "A Fly Flies" = 5 million views lol to me they overhyped him to bait the big dogs into playing their game. Anyway, at first I was going to agree with you. YT can have scouts for every group, let's say 0-1000 subs, then 1,000-5,000 etc..but like I said, in this world it's about you beasting and people blowing you up, like the music game.
