I will probably leave YouTube for another platform

Would you change the platform if there would be a serious competitor?

Loving YTtalk
I am not completely giving up on YouTube, but I feel sick of all the drama surrounding YouTube and their stupid and inefficient strike system.

Vid.me posted a response video on Reddit, which is currently trending in /r/video and I checked the platform and it is honestly quite nice. Their monetization system is in a beta test, you can apply for it like on YouTube in the old days and their community guidelines are not restricting at all.

I will probably upload on both platforms to see how it will work out, but honestly, as much as I love YouTube, the platform turns into a nightmare.

I understand. I've seen lots of people move away from YouTube and go to services like Vessel or just embedding things on their own sites to avoid take down due to copyright material. YouTube has a lot of strict guidelines to keep their company profitable.

Good luck!:wavespin:

Thanks. But this is what pisses me off. By the end of the day, advertisers caused this s**t show. Everything YouTube is doing, is making those people happy. What those suit wearing twats don't understand is, YouTube relies on creators. YouTube became so popular thanks to it variety of content. If you restrict 80% of your creators, they will get p****d and do something else or migrate to another competitor, once something comes around. I really love YouTube, it's like an ex-girlfriend you really loved and still love until this day, but she changed for the guy with the big pocket. You will always remember the love, but you have to move on. YouTube doesn't has a competitor because we users do not want an underdeveloped platform.

Well h3h3 put it the best in saying he has experienced this type of thing before and apparently the policy has always been in place, they're just enforcing it more now. It just means you will get little to no revenue for videos if you choose to talk about those subjects. You can still upload videos if you want and sell your own services or products in those videos and still make a profit.

Agree. But don't forget that those tags and titles are also responsible for your ranking. Even if YouTube is a big more convenient then others, I'd rather try something new, with less competition and human team ;)

Sorry but they are not restricting 80%, I would be surprised if it's even 0,01% of the videos. :)
You're correct youtube relies on creators but the ones paying the bills are the guys in suits as you call them and youtube relies even more on them. Those are also the guys who pay your bills. If the advertisers threaten to go away there will be no platform for the creators.
