I will NEVER be YouTube famous

Please, PLEASE, don't take this title the wrong way. I would like to talk about something that I think far too many of us are overlooking; why we make videos. Now, being an entertainer means that you would like people to enjoy your entertainment. Preferably LOTS of people. However, that was never why I wanted to make my channel. If I were only motivated by fame and whether or not other people enjoyed my videos, there isn't a farts chance in a fan factory that I would ever have uploaded every single day for months on end, DURING school. As a matter of fact, and I sincerely believe that there are many others out there that feel the very same. It really doesn't make a difference whether or not people watch my videos. I make videos for me.

I encourage all those who make videos for views to consider my stance for the briefest of moments. If you make videos to appease an audience, and that audience never comes, it leaves a bad taste in your mouth. You tried as hard as you could, but since your goal was to get views, you feel unaccomplished. What I hope for, though, is that you do gain success regardless of your motive, so if people do watch, then more power to you. If you make your videos for you, because you like to make videos, then whether or not people watch you shouldn't make any sort of difference. If you're happy making videos, and you're making videos, then you're happy, simple as that.

What's important to take away from this, and what I started this rant for, is what happens when you make videos for the sake of making videos. If that is your one true motive, then your videos have so much more flavor, so much more personality, like the shackles of your insecurities don't exist. Isn't personality what people look for in an entertaining channel, anyway? When you stop caring what people think of your personality, you drop the entertainer charade and become a real person in the video. People don't want to watch a hollow character, they want someone relatable with real, unbridled and genuine emotion.

If you become successful because you wanted to become successful, congratulations, you have accomplished what many of us dare to dream. I can only encourage you to entertain more. If, perchance, you became successful without even trying, if people happened to like watching you for YOU, isn't that so much more satisfying? Doesn't it mean so much more when people love you for doing something you love, not for doing something you worked to achieve?

Sometimes, the journey IS the destination.
I love this :)
