I Want To Criticize You

Well critique me

Alrighty, critique time!
  • The intro runs a bit long - I don't know anything about your channel, or what the video is about for the first 8 seconds. I think it'd be fine if the logo was your channel name, but you need to use the first 10 seconds of a video to hook people in.
  • The audio after your intro is over is ridiculously quiet. Compress it up!
  • Your personal microphone is fairly low quality compared to the gameplay audio. Definitely prioritize your own voice over gameplay.
  • There's no real introduction from you. Take a moment to acknowledge the audience at the beginning of your clip to make them feel more immersed.
  • The image at 0:23 is pandering to the lowest-common-denominator. It's going to lose you any chance of a female audience, and makes me not want to take your video seriously.
  • Your language is blue enough to really lose an audience. Consider cleaning things up for YouTube.
  • If you're going to continue to do image overlays, I'd suggest setting them to perhaps 30% opacity, so you don't interrupt the viewer from whatever they may have been looking at. I'd probably be more selective about which ones make it in - some of the gags seem forced.
  • ...aaaaand racist terms are not a good idea in YouTube videos.
  • ...aaaaand homophobic slurs. This is pretty much unwatchable. I think you need to work on yourself before you can work on your videos, honestly.
  • There's no outro/call-to-action/etc. You want something like that there to get people to keep watching. Though honestly, I'd recommend deleting this video.
I can't imagine much of this advice will be taken to heart - but unless you're playing for troll comments, I think this is a poor strategy to pursue.

Hiya, let's dive in:
  • Right, so your intro - it doesn't really tell me anything about your channel, or what the video is going to be about. I know it has something to do with APG, and GDEG. I think larger channels can get away with this, but keep in mind that this could be the first video of yours a viewer sees.
  • The music is a bit iffy - it sounds overly...MIDI? I'd probably swap that out for something that's mixed a bit better.
  • You start off the video saying you're "Back with the NHL Weekly Roundup", but you don't explain what that actually is. Someone who's been watching your content for a while probably is familiar, but new viewers may not know what your NHL Roundup is.
  • Definitely upload in 1080p if you're able. Seeing some render artifacts.
  • I'm confused about what's going on. You're talking about NHL stuff...but are you talking about how the teams are doing inside your game? Or in the real world? There's a disconnect between what you're talking about and what's on the screen.
  • Audio is a bit iffy in places. I'm not sure if it's abuse of noise-removal, but your voice is getting distorted a bit. Possibly just reducing the treble in your EQ would help a little bit.
  • So I'm concluding that you're talking about real life stuff, but it took me a while to distinguish that.
  • I think it's hard to keep attention for a long video like that when it's strictly commentary. It bugs me that the voice isn't really associated with the footage.
  • Perhaps this would do better as an actual commentary show? You talking directly to the camera (at least PIP)?
  • Or perhaps this would do better as a podcast?
Just my thoughts. Cheers!

-The intro is more for the branding, to get the name out there but not so much for introducing the video. My animation skills aren't that good :P
-The animation music I assume? It's hard to get something that's not copyrighted and I'm bad at mixing. Do you have any sources?
-Never noticed that, I'll be sure to do that in the future, thanks!
-I can't upload in 1080p and get 59.97, so it's a trade off. And since I take cool clips and make edits, I have to have 59.97. Just a software issue
-Yeah it's real world. I talk about the standings and articles. I can't really match up the gameplay, I can't use the NHL's clips...
-The voice issue is my house, the air circulation vents are just loud and I have to use a lot of noise removal. It sucks
-Again, can't really do anything about that. That's how all commentaries are though
-I have no camera so that wouldn't work and I don't have the funding for one. I run a gaming channel so it wouldn't make much sense anyways
-Podcast would be far too long, I don't have the audience for a podcast anyways.
Thanks for the tips

Hey man would u be so kind as to a review of this video from my channel, people have told us its the funniest video we have done thus far

Could you criticize my channel please :)
Right now I make 2 types of videos. Cooking and Covers.
So If you could watch 1 cover and 1 cooking you will get a basic idea of what my channel is about. :D
Thank you and I'm prepared for the harshness.

Hey Kevin, I'd love to hear your critiques on my video Already Over..it's the video in my signature. I am aware of the over exposure issues :) Thanks so much!
