I Want To Criticize You

Would love if you'd like to criticize me again, this time on something more in your genre :)
I have to point out though that I'm not completely confident being infront of the camera all alone with nobody around, feels abit weird hehe. Don't hold back on anything!

CRITIQUE AWAY MY FRIEND! :P

I feel like big issue at the moment is making too many different styles of videos. I want to do them all!

So I'll post you some short examples of my montages, I enjoy doing them the most :)

Oh and also, A sub for you for being so kind to review other people :)

Please could you check out my vid?:s It's a challenge thingy but... oh well :p

Thanks in advance x

Hiya! So challenge videos are tricky to review, as they're not necessarily designed to be representative of most content, but here we go:
  • Intro is good in that it explains what the subject of the video is, but you don't introduce yourself right away - remember that every video is a potential "first video" for new viewers. You want people to get a sense of your channel.
  • The video is surrounded by black boxes? Even if you're uploading at a low resolution, I'd recommend uploading the video at full screen
  • The audio is a bit challenging. It's not inaudible or anything, but you might want to consider using a shotgun mic or lav mics to get crisper sound.
  • Lighting could use a bit of work - might be a nice quick way to up the video quality.
  • Introducing your tattoo is a little bit off-topic. For a challenge video like this, you probably want to keep everything on-point.
  • When you have long videos that aren't tightly edited, you need to make sure you have high energy for the full video, so people don't lose focus. In this case, what people are most interested is your reaction to the challenge, so I'd do my best to trim up the footage to showcase that as quickly as possible.
Cheers, and hope this helps!

Thank you =D Yeah, a few people have told me about the black boxes! I'll try and get rid of them in future vids :) And everything else, thank you =D

So here's the video I'd like reviewed. Obviously I know you're not a gamer, but maybe comment more on the audio and my commentary rather than the contents of the gameplay. Though if you see a quality issue, feel free to speak on that aspect of the video. Anything else you want to comment on go ahead :)

Hiya, let's dive in:
  • Right, so your intro - it doesn't really tell me anything about your channel, or what the video is going to be about. I know it has something to do with APG, and GDEG. I think larger channels can get away with this, but keep in mind that this could be the first video of yours a viewer sees.
  • The music is a bit iffy - it sounds overly...MIDI? I'd probably swap that out for something that's mixed a bit better.
  • You start off the video saying you're "Back with the NHL Weekly Roundup", but you don't explain what that actually is. Someone who's been watching your content for a while probably is familiar, but new viewers may not know what your NHL Roundup is.
  • Definitely upload in 1080p if you're able. Seeing some render artifacts.
  • I'm confused about what's going on. You're talking about NHL stuff...but are you talking about how the teams are doing inside your game? Or in the real world? There's a disconnect between what you're talking about and what's on the screen.
  • Audio is a bit iffy in places. I'm not sure if it's abuse of noise-removal, but your voice is getting distorted a bit. Possibly just reducing the treble in your EQ would help a little bit.
  • So I'm concluding that you're talking about real life stuff, but it took me a while to distinguish that.
  • I think it's hard to keep attention for a long video like that when it's strictly commentary. It bugs me that the voice isn't really associated with the footage.
  • Perhaps this would do better as an actual commentary show? You talking directly to the camera (at least PIP)?
  • Or perhaps this would do better as a podcast?
Just my thoughts. Cheers!

Hey Kev, could you do one for me, I know you don't do gaming videos or whatever, but just for general entertainment help, do you think I'm enthusiastic, funny etc :)
