I started my channel but no one knows it exists :(

Topic. I have like 9 subscribers lol. Kind of lonely!

Everyone who listens to it says the content is good but yeah, it's just kind of sitting there at the moment.

Don't worry, to most of us YouTube will be a marathon not a sprint. Sure a few channels blow up over night but most wont, most will take years of dedication. My channel was and is a slow burner, it took about 2.5 years to reach 1000 subs, then it took about 9 months to reach 2k subs now I'm hoping to reach 3k before the end of the year.

Just make sure to be patient, try to make every video better than your previous one and try to find niches where your smaller channel actually can compete in the search results.

Same here. All of my 5 subs came about because someone embedded one of my videos on facebook, and it got a total of 150 views in 3 days. You just have to hope that someone will post one of your videos somewhere where it will get heaps of views and that will bring in some subs. After the 5 subs, views and subs pretty much stopped.

its a long way to the top if you wanna rock and roll my friend ;) I've been doing this for nearly 3 and a half years now, I've made over 200 videos and have over 75,000 views. but after literally putting every evening and weekend I can into the channel im only just about to break 400 subs. My advice? enjoy the ride my friend. connect with the subs you currently have enjoy making the videos you make and let the organic growth do its magic.

So true. What a lot of people don't realize is that YT is a multi-year game. People should give it at least 2 years before giving up, and in those 2 years they should be uploading consistently and promoting (not spamming) their channel on social media consistently. Give the YT and social media algorithms time to do their thing.

Most importantly, people should be making videos in niches they have a passion for, or where they have expert knowledge that the viewers can learn from. Following trends or randomly picking niches will not help with the motivation to keep going.
