So, whenever i try to make a commentary, its so hard because i sound like Mr.Monotone all the time.
Also i am not very good at thinking of stuff to say and my videos are often very quiet.
What should i do?

Get a good mic, and adjust mic settings.

You must be in the right frame of mind, excited, happy, enthusiastic. Build yourself up to this state before recording or don't even bother. Makes a huge difference.

I recommend you make a list of things you want to talk about during the video. They should be things that excite you, but they also should relate to what you're doing. Doing this gives you things to fill the gaps in your commentary, and it's stuff you want to talk about so you will sound more excited.

If that fails, just try having fun and being fun.

If you're worried about sounding monotone, then play a game that pulls more reactions, like funny or scary games until you become comfortable with commentating.

As for sound, it sounds fine to me o-o

For the volume, just boost your microphone, or even quieten the game a lot and then boost the sound in editing.
As for the commentary, just be yourself, and have fun with it!

Try not to focus your doing a commentary. Or act as if your telling your best friend about the game.
Just enjoy it, you don't have to be speaking 24/7 in commentaries :p

Whilst I would disagree that a better mic/settings will do anything to help a monotonous voice, I totally agree with the second point: if your heart isn't in it, your voice won't be. Try and get excited. Imagine you're talking to someone rather than just to a microphone. Try and forget you are recorded. The monotony likely comes from nerves!

Thanks for all the tips, next time i make a video i'll make sure to be enthusiastic about it, forcing yourself to make a video is apparently a very bad thing :P

When you go to record have a script, or bullet point things you want to talk about so you don't run out of things to say. If you have to record 1 or two minutes at a time then do that you can always edit pieces together later.

About the monotone thing if you talk naturally like that then you're going to have to make a concious effort to vary pitch mid sentence, and think before you're saying a sentence what words you're about to emphasize. Try going to listen to someone who really entertains you on youtube and instead of listening to what they're saying focus on how they're saying it, the changes in their voice as they go through a sentence then practice it yourself.

Hope this helps you
