I'm really frustrated. There is this strategy that small YouTubers are using now where they comment on some big YouTuber's video and then REPLY to themselves to bump them back up to the top! AND on top of that, they make some fake account to comment on their comment saying "Omg I love your videos!!"
You can blatantly tell it's a fake account because it has no profile picture, no recent activity, and was JUST made.
Not to mention they commented literally a MINUTE after that primary commenter said something!
It's so annoying and so fake and it's driving me crazy. What happened to just being genuine and nice and earning subscribers the right way?
I know SO many and have seen SO many "YouTubers" do this and it's just driving me crazy.
Their content isn't even that great. Minimal effort, etc. It just makes me so mad.
Because I know all of us, especially here on the forums but SO much effort into our content and it usually just gets unnoticed!
I've started reporting these commenters because I don't feel what they're doing is right.
What do you guys think?

It's all about the promotion! They couldn't care less about the actual YouTuber their watching!! They just do the whole

That does sound a bit frustrating. I try not to focus on what other channels are doing so much, in terms of promotion, only because the tactics they use will burn them out sooner or later. The saying goes "fake it till you make it" but in this case I think "faking" (or really just plain scamming) your way to the top is only going to make you crash and burn. As long as you keep doing you, and stay true to that, you'll get where you want to get.

I gotta say it does bug me when the top comment of a video is something basic like "Wow, you're really pretty." Like...could you have put ANY more thought into that post?

Damn straight, ive seen it done before, even knew a youtube who is on around 2k subscribers now because he spammed twitter, and made several accounts to follow himself and use some sort of bot to post messages. He also made several accounts and subbed to himself.
 
I saw you post this before :) And i have to admit i didn't notice it in your first post but i have also just recently noticed it and it really sucks! Its pointless!!! Oh well thats people for you....i fell your pain

That's so pointless though! Now he just has a bunch of empty subscribers!

Yeah you're totally right! The whole tactic will eventually burn them out in the end. Because they can only get SO many subscribers and not have quality content to match it.
 
Yeah its not something i noticed before but i have witnessed it on one of the youtubers i follows channels. Are you planning to do a video on it? is it on your list?

Nah I don't think I'll do a video on it. I don't wanna cause drama or have anything negative come to my channel because of it.
