I got YouTube certified!

I actually don't have access to content ID but I am TC in the official help forums. My best guess is that YouTube wants to make sure that TCs know a bit about the platform ;)

Haha - thanks for the reply! :)
I was 4th or somethink like this level there but I doubt I gonna make the cut. :)

I checked out the help forums, definitely looks interesting and a lot of information there on the technical aspects.
Would you recommend answering questions and joining the YouTube community, or the overall google community. Of course I have more experience with YT, so that seems like something I would be interested in.
One more qn - do you have to use your real Google name/account, or can you use a channel name to be eligible to join as a TC after 6 months?
Thanks!!

When you want to be there to gain subscribers then I can't recommend it. In all the years I guess I hardly gained any subscriber from there.
The main benefit for me is to learn early about problems and the background of YouTube. As hard as it sounds but video removals of other creators who ask for help there teach me how to not make the same mistakes.

I myself didn't use a real name google account to join the forum or TC program.

Note that getting into the first stage - the Rising Star program - already takes moths of being active and the step to TC again takes months of dedication. It's a bit like with growing a channel. Anyway as mentioned before my main goal there wasn't to become a TC but to learn about things that put my channel in danger soon enough.

that's fantastic and very well deserved :) you get a certificate? Are you gonna frame it? I probably would have haha :3

I just completed the YouTube certification course and got certified for audience growth. The score to pass was 75% and mine was 85%.
Most stuff that was treated wasn't new for me but I learned a thing or two about content management and the way ads are treated. So far I am not sure what to do with it but somehow it feels nice :)
Good job! I think I'm also going to do that because you never know if you would learn something useful :p
