I just completed the YouTube certification course and got certified for audience growth. The score to pass was 75% and mine was 85%.
Most stuff that was treated wasn't new for me but I learned a thing or two about content management and the way ads are treated. So far I am not sure what to do with it but somehow it feels nice :)

Thanks! Yes, it's an online course. The teaching material itself takes about six hours in total and is mainly videos but there's also 16 pages textual information and tasks. You can take a break of about any length at any time.
The exam is separate and you need to take it latest 30 days after you have been accepted. You get at maximum two hours to pass and you only have two chances. The certificate is then valid for one year and you have to renew it.
If you want to prepare in advance the YouTube Creator Academy courses are already a good start.
 
Note that this is neither a channel verification that is done by phone nor the verification hook on the channel name. It's a certificate that proofs your knowledge in YouTube.
 
Awesome. I applied a few weeks ago but the channel was rejected as we don't have contentId. I did some reading and it seems the course is only if you have contendId on your channel or work for a company that has it.
Is that the same you did or diff? Can you msg me the link to the course. Thanks
 
Thanks for the congrats. Yes, the course is generally limited to those who have access to ContentID so basically being very big or managing a big channel.
