I Give Up.

I also think that a lot of people think small. They get 100 subscribers in 12 months and they´re happy with it. If you think small, you will most likely be small, unless you get super lucky from one day to another.

Luck is the reason why many youtubers got famous. But a lot of other people thought big right from the start and they really tried to become popular, and some did it.

I don´t see the problem with someone wanting to become big as quick as possible. That´s probably not gonna happen in most cases, but being happy with 100 subscribers is also not gonna push you forward. At least he defined a goal for himself, and because of that, he can know if it´s worth to continue or not. Maybe he doesn´t wanna be like almost everybody else in this forum and be making videos for only 50 people to watch.

Most opportunities that existed for youtubers that got big a 4 or 5 years ago don´t exist anymore. Nowadays, you gotta chase popularity. You can´t just wait. You gotta be strategic and have a good gameplan.

And there are channels who have been toiling away for longer than you, @GreenFrank, who have less subscribers than you - some who haven't even hit 100. How are comments like your OP supposed to make them feel? Put it into some perspective, and realize that those same people aren't "giving up" like you have - they continue to create content because they love what they do. So the question is: have you fallen out of love with it? If so, then yeah, stopping now is your best call. It's nobody's job here to try and talk you out of it. It's a damn shame, but at the end of the day it's your call. I do hope you'll keep your channel, as I think you have unique content, and I hate to see anyone give up, but like I said, no one can or should force you to stay if your heart isn't in it.

Either way, I hope you'll be happy in whatever decision you make.
Seriously I have 13 subs in 5 months..I have a decent number of views but obviously no one is interested enough to subscribe.

I used to have a lot of doubts but now less and less each time. it's like what people have already said. If you really enjoy what you are doing then keep doing it.
I've yet to break 100 views on each of my videos and even get passed 30 subscribes. took a few years to get to grips on what content I mostly enjoyed making and find a new approach to it but I'm now there......now its just getting views which may be my tags to blame I don't know?
Either way I enjoy me and my mate pretending to be grumpy old women playing computer games. The amount of rubbish we say to each other, and the abuse and bizzare life stories we share to each other is too funny to give up.
I only wish others could laugh with us ^_^
Law of averages say one day loads more people will enjoy it so it's just a matter of persisting and keeping that enthusiasm and energy going in the videos.

Truly I have been youtubing for less than a year but I have been experimenting and trying different things out for 3 years now I think?
So in hinde sight yeah I should probs give up cus I have no success as of yet but that doesnt bother me.......95% if the time. If I'm honest yeah I get down sometimes and then I see other peoples vids and how they say to just keep on pushing forward and then I'm back on the wagon again.
Give it time and keep doing what your doing. If you enjoy it then it shouldnt matter about how many views you get over night. I'm ever hopeful more people will enjoy our crazy improvised humour and look forward to a day I will get requests or questions aimed at the characters haha! That would be awesome.

It's hard not to beat yourself up as I'm hard on myself all the time. The trick i've found is to find ways to prove yourself wrong.

Take this quote for example:
"April 5th, 2015, you have 3 videos, 234 subscribers, and 136 views."

Is your content or yourself good enough?.....umm....
yeah you are!! cus you built all that so quickly.

If you did it only for the fame than you probably made the correct decision.

But could you elaborate more on how the existing videos don't fit your channel any more? I have the feeling that your view on the channel is too narrow and that - if you made it broader - you could still use the videos. Many people start over and over again instead of developing an existing channel and thus never reach the point were subscribers start rolling in.

A certain age actually gives your channel a bit of authority.

Well this was quite depressing, It quite reminds me of Wingsofredemption if anyone know what i mean XD

I was thinking exactly that. Im only on 88 subs and have been going for nearly four months now. I don't care really. I enjoy making and filming the content, even if it is discouraging seeing someone make the same vids the same quality as me with 50k more subs...

I would say don't give up it all takes time and effort while if you look channels rise and fall just like the seasons due to the fact that some channels that are big get 1000+ subs over night have a chance of them buying subs. I would say continue with what you do and just focus on content and quality the subscribers will come later and in time.

i can't find your old channel, is ray the blue fish your new channel now? I love stop motion and really want to see your stuff :)

This is the last yttalk post I will write under this name. The stop motion film will launch on Wednesday. The next video after that may be about potatoes.
