I Don't Understand People Like This

It's simple. He wanted you to do the work for him and make him famous without doing any work. What's not to understand!? ^_^

I saw his videos. Not worth it
Yeah, someone at work said the same thing. Oh well. I still don't regret it. I just don't understand uncommunicative people like that.

It's okay I feel ya. One time when i was still doing my series (which I discontinued because I didn't really feel it anymore) where I do weird news reports in a satirical way, someone asked to collaborate. Something I've never done and was nervous at it. I took the offer and he said he would send me a script and I'll send him the clip, now a month later he still hasn't sent me anything. But it's okay, I'm done with my series anyways and I don't wanna go back to it XD

My guess is that he was only interested in getting a video on your channel so he could get the exposure or something.

But yeah, those one, two word replies are annoying as hell. I used to work in IT tech support a long time ago and trying to get meaningful answers out of some people was like trying to get blood out of a stone. Some people (obv not all thankfully), - the more you help them, the more you do for them, the more they expect in return and never with a word of thanks.

I work in IT right now and had already likened this situation to trying to help someone fix their issue when I was telling someone else about it! There are lots of great stories like this on the Tales From Tech Support subreddit.

Also, once he realized that it wasn't going on my channel, isn't having a video like that on his own channel still better than nothing? It fits with his channel theme and it's an additional video he can put up without having to do any work to make it.
You went out of your way to be kind and helpful and the other person appears to be a jerk without manners. I would be angry if I were you.
You have way more patience than I do. I really admire your restraint and manners when dealing with someone who obviously has trouble finding both feet while putting on their shoes.
I think working in IT really helps one to deal with this kind of thing better because it is an everyday part of the job. But besides that, I find things like this more funny than frustrating. Funny and like a mystery to be solved. It might have something to do with my cognitive type being an EP type (ESTP specifically). They are most interested in theirs and other individual's motives behind their actions.

The ones I used to hate:

Caller: "Internet doesn't work."
Me: Please tell me what exactly doesn't work. What steps have you taken after turning on your PC ?
Caller: Internet doesn't work.
Me: What can you see on your screen right now?
Caller: Dunno. Internet doesn't work.
Me: What lights are on your modem?
Caller: Huh? Internet doesn't work.
(ad infinitum)
:banghead:

Anyway, sorry I'll stop there because I'm derailing the thread.

Yeah of course, but he's too entitled to say thanks and compromise. He wants you to do all the work on the video and the promotion and the shoutout to your audience.

I had a PM yesterday from someone asking me to email him all of my videos so he could use them. In a really matter of fact way too, like his request was totally standard. Kind of like he was booking a table at a restaurant and he was waiting for me to confirm. (WTF? Sure, I'll send you 3000+ hours worth of my work. Anything else I can do for you?)

I sometimes reply to ridiculous requests and tell them they can download it from PleaseSpoonFeedMe.com but even then, someone once replied back to that to tell me the site was down. *Woosh* You can't fix stupid.

So, no reply from Charlie, so I deleted my video. But I noticed that he just put up a new video that seems to be inspired by my style, only it's nowhere close. And he has subscribed to me as well. But it just begs the question even more, if he wanted something like this on his channel, why not just use the one I gave him!?

Yeah, I'd be bashing my head against the desk like the Monty Python venerating monks, if I were in your place. lol
