I almost CHEATED!!

Thats not cheating... every major company has a marketing dept.. there are several way's to market yourself... At the end of the day folks will come back if your content is good... most of my videos i never even used tags.... now i do.. and sometimes i put funny things in my tags like.. Why the hell you reading my tags any way... To me the best way to build your channel is at home, friends, family, co workers, school mates... some folks knows thousands of people who all know people... facebook is a great way to start... if you build it ..they don't come on youtube.. you have to build it..then throw it at folks to see what you built...

I haven't been tempted because they all seem like scams, cost money, and wouldn't make me feel accomplished :[

I would never cheat, my Youtube channel is a new hobby...not a competition. Do I want people to watch and like my videos? Of course...people don't spend time and money on projects and not want to show them off, however if you are showing them to bots its not fulfilling at all!

Not sure how one would go about "cheating" to get views and would prefer not to know based on some of the comments. :whistling2:

Most of my subscribers are family and friends whom I've shared the video with so hopefully I'll gain more as I post more videos. Does YouTube factor in any kind of algorithm for the activity/reputation of your subscribers? Actually, that just gave me a new thread idea...

Maybe you should take some time away from YouTube if you're thinking THAT much about buying views, it's like you're giving yourself a pat on the back for not doing something you shouldn't do in the first place. I never think about buying views.

I wasn't going to buy anything, there are other ways, and no I didn't and no I won't. I figured with all the tubers out there the chances that others have had moments of weakness like mine were good and thought it a good idea to share this experience and get a dialog going.[DOUBLEPOST=1358917526,1358917206][/DOUBLEPOST]
i haven't been tempted, but i would warn you be careful

Youtube & Google are big companies, they would never let a upcomer or newbie get over on the system.

My suggestion: DONT

My philosophy: Theres no shortcuts to success
If I was going to cheat I would have just done so instead of coming here and risking ridicule by sharing my moment of temptation with everyone in hopes to get people thinking and talking about this controversial topic.
