Huge quality loss after upload

Hi, I am trying to figure out which is the best render settings in Sony Vegas when working with GoPro videos. It never looks as good as the official videos.
I am using MP4 container with H.264 codec as it is said in Recommended upload settings. I also set the bitrate accordingly. With 8 Mbps the video looks close to original raw file and it gets better with 20, 50 or even 100 Mbps. But no matter which one I upload to YouTube it always downgrade the quality significantly. Mainly when looking on the sky or contrasting lines/objects the picture is very pixelated. Somehow I would say it's even worse with the higher bitrate clips.
How to achieve the same quality as official GoPro videos have or at least the same I see on my exported file on my PC. Thanks.

By that you mean the raw file right?

YT doesn't process your vid the second you upload it, so depending on how long it is, it'll take a while for it to show up in 720p-1080p. I usually have to wait around 20-30 min for my longer vids to appear in full quality. Sometimes even longer.

What resolution are you recording at?

By official videos I meant videos uploaded by GoPro itself. I am able to switch to 1080p, usually I upload during night and check the video the next day. I record at 1080p and 30 or 60 fps. Interesting thing is that if I upload raw file directly from GoPro camera to YouTube it looks great. But when I have the same clip rendered from Sony Vegas it is much worse even though on the PC it looks like the raw file.

So after you've edited it in Sony Vegas it looks like crap on YT? Could be something to do with Sony Vegas then. Have you tried different editing software?

Well I did and I chose Sony Vegas because it had the best result for me :) it looks really great when it is exported and I watch it on the PC. It goes bad after the upload to YouTube.

Hmmm ok. So we've established that the problem is not coming from your software, but rather Youtube itself then.
I saw some people talking about similar problems here: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/youtube/mJ6piqEi6ZQ

"Fast moving scenery will never compress well no matter what you do."

But you'd think that the raw file you have on your computer, would be uploaded just as it is onto youtube, instead of being degraded and bad quality..

I read about this on several places too, but confusing thing for me is why I can find videos which are concerning the same topic (fast motion skiing) which look much better.
And also that original raw video directly from GoPro uploaded to YouTube looks ok. However this video is uploaded as 60fps and it is also played on YouTube like this. Maybe that could make the difference?

Can you post a screenshot of your export settings just before you export the video.

Settings looks like this:

So I'm no expert at this, but I'm pretty sure I've read somewhere that If you take a video that's shot at 60FPS, and compress it down into 30FPS, it's going to look bad. If you're trying to upload it to YT after it's compressed down into 30FPS, that might explain the issue. 1080p60 always looks better than 1080p30 imo aswell.

YouTube will lower quality significantly in order to keep data usage by watchers to a minimum. It is under the category "it is what it is" and just YouTube on!
