Hello, I have a lot of problems with my YouTube channel but I can't get help from YouTube because I don't monetize! I work very hard on my channel, please HELP!!!!!

- My subscribers' count has been frozen for weeks now even though I still get notifications from YouTube that I have new subscribers most days!
- A bit before my subscribers' count was frozen I started to get a message that I couldn't subscribe to anyone else because I had subscribed to too many people. Because this happened in my old channel I was now very careful not to sub to anyone unless they subbed to me or were really active on my channel. Still, I have to have two or three places free, meaning, unsubscribing to existing subscribers, in order to subscribe to someone, even if I have just received a notification that they subscribed to me. By now I am hardly subscribed to anyone but I will have 1200 (frozen), subscribers.

Something is awfully wrong.... I need this channel for my work as a singer and actress, please HELP!

I think that we all have our own way to run our YouTube channels, I welcome anyone who comes into a lovely community! What are your thoughts on the problems I and so many people are experiencing? I really hope that I will get some help here, since it is not possible to get it from YouTube!

Wow, I didn't know there was a limit to how many channels you can subscribe to. But I don't imagine that to be a problem unless there is an abuse of what youtbue would consider Sub for Sub. Maybe the youtube algorithm is considering the channels that sub to you you sub back & counts it as sub for sub & is reviewing your active subscribers.
I know it's frustrating but youtube does clean up inactive users every so often. I know it's hard sometimes to not follow back, but maybe consider not subscribing to all that sub to you because in the end, they will not matter if they don't return to your channel to support you.
Good luck.

Moved to the YouTube main forum. :)

(The YTtalk support/suggestions forum is specifically for YTtalk forum support, not YouTube support. Nobody here works for Youtube. )

It sounds like you have been doing sub4sub. That is against Youtube's TOS and Youtube's algorithms can easily detect it and it sounds like they have detected it on your channel.

I think that we all have our own way to run our YouTube channels

Of course. Everyone can do what they want but people must also accept the consequences of their actions.

What are your thoughts on the problems I and so many people are experiencing?

Nobody else is having any problems.

Hi GiggaVega, many thanks for your reply. I didn't know either that there is a limit on how many channels you can subscribe too. When I had my old channel I would then not be able to subscribe to anyone for a little while but I used to just go around and subscribe to a lot of channels so this time I didn't do it. This time I was careful and only subbed if people would sub to me or if they were really active in my channel as not to get YouTube against me but that did not help.... one day I started to get the messages that I had subscribed to many more people than had subscribed to my channel and started to have to unsubscribe to most the channels that had subscribed to me but I have no choice? I don't know what to do... if one could speak to YouTube and they could tell me what is wrong, OK but I can't. I have heard that of cleaning up inactive users but.... I am sure they don't do that in the huge channels? It is surely impossible to keep up with 1 million people? And in my case, my channel is not that big or even old so who on earth are those inactive people? The number of subscribers was still steadily going up. Until it stopped. Now I get the notifications, so I have a lot of new subscribers but they never appear on the list and then number is frozen. The thing is that I was exactly so very careful to whom I subscribed... And is it right for people to subscribe to me and me not caring and not subscribing to them? The worst thing is that I have no idea what to do. I ran my old channel in exactly the same way and this never happened.... A lot of people have their subscribers frozen, never heard of people who have to unsubscribe to everyone of their 1200 subscribers.

I Crown, sorry, I am new here.... do you mean that I was in the wrong forum? I know that there is probably no one here from YouTube but I hoped that maybe someone could shed a light on this? But thanks if you posted my post on a more relevant forum!

Hi Francisca. You said a lot here so I will do my best to answer all those questions based on what I know & experience.
1: Youtube will never actually respond to your reaching out. The only ones that they personally respond to are the BIG channels that are partnered.
2: Inactive subscribers are people that either: A, have not visited your channel for XXX amount of time
B, have not visited Youtube in XXX amount of time
It happens to ALL accounts regardless of how big they are. Even Pewdiepie is no exception. There was a video that showed a 2500+ subscriber loss in 1 minute (he had at that point 90M subs). People freaked out. He reached out to Youtube (because he is a partner) & they told him that they implemented a new Algorithm that removes any & all inactive accounts from your subscriber count (until they become active again)
3: It is normal to not have everybody that is subscribed to you in your subscriber list. If a user has his account subscriptions unlisted, they will not appear in your list.
4: Youtube is not transparent at all with their terms of service because they need that flexibility to adapt to ever changing laws & regulations, which is why they will never tell you why exactly a video was claimed or blocked. If they were to tell us EXACTLY what the guidelines are they would have to be responsible & implement the regulations across all channels & content. (that is what I think at least, I could be wrong but that is why Youtube tells you to consult a lawyer if you don't understand lol)
I hope that cleared up some confusion Francisca, Great luck & keep growing your channel.

Hi again GiggaVega and many thanks for you reply.

- I have no words to describe what you told me.... better keep people in the dark than to have to inform them when rules change. If in the meanwhile they did not punish people I could live with it, as it is now, if I did something wrong, I have no clue what it was. What I know is that there are a lot of people out there with the same problems and no one to turn to. True, some people kind of get disconnected, often not because you don't want to be n contact but because with so many subscribers some slip away but.... if they keep removing them then no channel will ever grow! What is the point? I need them and until there is a better platform I need to keep going. I would prefer a better service and to pay a small amount every month.

- I know that some subscriptions are private but I thought that then you don't get a notification either?

- Visit a lawyer.... they have no idea that most of us are just normal people, struggling to get by every day!

Thanks once again and maybe some else will shed more light on the subject, also why I am not able to subscribe to anyone without unsubscribing to a few people. I have never heard of that one.... Have a lovely day!

Here is a quote from Youtube's rules and guidelines:

_______________________
"We regularly verify the legitimacy of the accounts and actions on your YouTube channel. This is part of a process to make sure that our site metrics are free of spam, abuse, and closed accounts to keep YouTube a fair place for everyone.

It’s important that subscriber numbers stay meaningful to make sure that when your subscriber count grows, it’s because you’re organically building a community of authentic fans who will keep watching and supporting you."

So essentially if people are subbing to you because you're also subbing to them, Youtube doesn't like it. They can easily detect it automatically and they will take action.
