How to be the next Ryan Toys Review?

Great advice. Thanks. Maybe they put a picture of Ryan's aunt on the thumbnail and she looks hot? Should I put a picture of my aunt on my thumbnail too (she is 80 years old) lol

I think you need to stop trying to copy this one successful channel TBH. Your channel description is already a direct copy, with that last line about donating being a straight-up word for word copy and paste (though you removed the smiley face at the end).

Copying is a form of flattery. How many Coke bottle gummy jello DIY have you seen on Youtube? We saw that was a great project so we copied it.

We have been doing Youtube for a month so we are still in the stage of "see one, do one". Hopefully the next two months we will be in the stage of "teach one".

Last month we did not know what a "channel" is on Youtube. Now we knew.

This wasn't even about any videos you've done; I don't have the time or desire to skim that stuff since toy channels are not my thing whatsoever, it's simply about how you stole a channel description in a super obvious way. At least make it less obvious.

Anybody who's already a subscriber of this big channel would notice that you're trying to imitate the big channel if they read your channel description, which again is why I said you should change it - that does not leave a good impression.

And for the record, imitation is flattery, copying is theft.

Ryan Toys Review were active recently on this forum (if I remember correctly - but I am pretty sure I was chatting with one of the parents). May be they can give you directly an advice or two!
Thanks for the head up.[DOUBLEPOST=1458025771,1458025661][/DOUBLEPOST]

They will also show you all the fun and entertainment places in the world, especially in Orlando, Florida. Their goal is to travel the world and Vlog them.

Ken and Hugh love to do science experiments as their parents are scientists. These are as fun as toys.

Is the description important for Youtube SEO?

My next channel description will be written in iambic pentameter format. Will invite you over to give us a critique. Thanks.

How do I get there in a year just like Ryan?
Produce content that is compelling to your demographic and visually appealing. These review channels typically have videos with not so great like/dislike ratios, and it was explained to me by a couple of people running these channels that kids pretty much mash the buttons on whatever device they are using, causing such a disproportionate number of dislikes. What this indicates is that the parents have pretty much put their kids on autopilot and the kids will watch video after video after video, contributing to a very high watch time.

Look at his videos. His most popular video is undoubtedly what started really pushing his momentum and got him a ton of subscribers, and what was it? One of those egg surprise videos, almost all of which do extremely well for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is the ability to hold a kid's attention throughout the entire video.

This all being said, I believe he had very good timing and sure, there was a measure of luck as well. All successful channels have some measure of luck, but when you start asking about what percent is luck vs hard work it sounds like you're trying to excuse the fact that you aren't growing as quickly as he did. It is very very rare for someone to go from 0 to 1.9 million in one year, practically unheard of. All you can do is focus on creating compelling videos.

Good luck with your channel.[DOUBLEPOST=1458046609,1458046152][/DOUBLEPOST]

I can tell you with fair certainty that the channel description has very little to do with a channel's success. You've already put too much time crafting your description, and now too much time trying to change it. Work on coming up with ideas for videos. Imitation is flattery, like Elk said, and honestly, if you're stuck for an idea then don't feel bad about drawing inspiration from someone else's video. I've gotten a ton of views from about a dozen or so videosthat I created (across a few channels) that were reboots of other people's videos, only I did them better. Many successful business men and women have amassed their fortunes from taking an idea and making it better, so don't feel bad about doing that (of course, don't try to draw inspiration from videos that already have millions of views, because the chances of you doing it better aren't very good).

Also, like Elk said, do not word for word copy any meta data. Not because it's wrong (I honestly don't care about that) but because it's a waste of time. If it were that easy everyone would have tons of subs and views. People have tried to copy meta data for years and usually without great results. Don't waste your time.

Thank you for your good observation. Will get some big eggs.

We just started about a month ago. So any growth is good. We are just enjoying filming the kids. Growing to 581 subscribers in a month is a secondary. We don"t even have adsense activated.

I don't think it's that easy. There isn't some foolproof method of getting 1.9 million subscribers in a year. They had a mega gateway video, that's why. They had a video with 300+ million views on it so of course people are going to click it and find their channel. So unless you can make something like that, it won't be so easy.

Ryan Toys Review is an inspiration story. We don't do videos to just be Ryan. We do it because we like to do it. The most important thing is that as a family we are growing closer together. I skipped a couple of big projects at work so that I can play with my boys.

That isn't what I'm saying. I'm just saying that if you want to grow to be relatively their channel size, that's how they did it. Through a gateway video. I believe there is a guide on here explaining how you can make one.

Also, that's really sweet that you skipped those projects just for your kids. I applaud you for that, because child parent connections like that are great.

Thank you for your suggestion. I will look up gateway video and make one
