How do I get there in a year just like Ryan?
Produce content that is compelling to your demographic and visually appealing. These review channels typically have videos with not so great like/dislike ratios, and it was explained to me by a couple of people running these channels that kids pretty much mash the buttons on whatever device they are using, causing such a disproportionate number of dislikes. What this indicates is that the parents have pretty much put their kids on autopilot and the kids will watch video after video after video, contributing to a very high watch time.
Look at his videos. His most popular video is undoubtedly what started really pushing his momentum and got him a ton of subscribers, and what was it? One of those egg surprise videos, almost all of which do extremely well for a variety of reasons, not the least of which is the ability to hold a kid's attention throughout the entire video.
This all being said, I believe he had very good timing and sure, there was a measure of luck as well. All successful channels have some measure of luck, but when you start asking about what percent is luck vs hard work it sounds like you're trying to excuse the fact that you aren't growing as quickly as he did. It is very very rare for someone to go from 0 to 1.9 million in one year, practically unheard of. All you can do is focus on creating compelling videos.
Good luck with your channel.[DOUBLEPOST=1458046609,1458046152][/DOUBLEPOST]
What do you think about this description?
I can tell you with fair certainty that the channel description has very little to do with a channel's success. You've already put too much time crafting your description, and now too much time trying to change it. Work on coming up with ideas for videos. Imitation is flattery, like Elk said, and honestly, if you're stuck for an idea then don't feel bad about drawing inspiration from someone else's video. I've gotten a ton of views from about a dozen or so videosthat I created (across a few channels) that were reboots of other people's videos, only I did them better. Many successful business men and women have amassed their fortunes from taking an idea and making it better, so don't feel bad about doing that (of course, don't try to draw inspiration from videos that already have millions of views, because the chances of you doing it better aren't very good).
Also, like Elk said, do not word for word copy any meta data. Not because it's wrong (I honestly don't care about that) but because it's a waste of time. If it were that easy everyone would have tons of subs and views. People have tried to copy meta data for years and usually without great results. Don't waste your time.
