How often do you comment on videos?

Honestly, I comment on many of my subbed "small" youtubers videos! To me all of the bigger youtubers comment section is just filled with spam to the point were that youtuber most likely doesn't check his comment section. This is my opinion, what do you guys think about this topic?

I never really thought about commenting until I started my own YouTube channel. I used to never comment on videos, but now I do on small channels just to support them a bit. You're so right about the comment spam and it doesn't even feel like it's worth it to comment on larger channels' videos at all.

i comment on all of the small channels i watch but when its a big channel i dont comment there isnt really a point i reckon

I comment on pretty much every video that I enjoy & find entertaining. Doesn't matter how big or small the channel. Yeah there is definitely a lot more spam on the big channels but I do often get larger YouTubers responding to positive comments that I leave.

It's easy to get drowned out in the noise of a larger videos comments sections and I can see why people don't bother.

What I have started to do is change my subscription settings to notify me immediately when there's new content from the larger channels. That way, I can get my comment in early and it will have less competition. Of course, the comment needs to be relevant as a minimum.

A recent example: I managed to get an early comment in recently that was half funny and very relevant to the video. Within minutes I had 15 likes and I noticed a small flurry of traffic to my channel, followed by a subscriber or two. It's worth noting that you should only do this for content that you actually like and have something to add to, but that probably goes without saying.

I'm a relentless commenter. I like to comment on everything, possibly because I am really fond of my own opinions. It's gotten to the point where some people have said, "I see you everywhere!" on certain videos, and I feel a bit self-conscious, but I don't stop commenting, because...well, I don't think I can help myself.
