How much time do you spend on custom thumbnails?

I take a screen shot from the video (or a similar photo from my thumbnail folder). Then add a little bit of text. Takes a couple minutes.
 
I've never done it. I completley suck at all the editing and technical stuff (you may notice my vlogs are extremley basic) If anyone could give me a heads up on how to do it, it would be much appreciated.
 
ok tips on thumbnails: the size should be 1280 x 720 and if you are going to put in text, avoid the right lower corner. because that where the timer is :p

Some good tips coming along too! I will especially remember the one with the right corner, it's a death corner to me now! D:
 
I have to go online, find the images I want, design a custom text, then I piece it all together.
Anywhere from 5 - 15 min tops.

That is certainly true, I have to go on the internet anyways to get my text. Also a nice picture with the right white background is sometimes hard to find.
 
btw, another tip: dont make them to complicated, because its going to be pretty small on the feed anyways. so best is a thumbnail that got some info of like episode/what game and that kind of stuff. and then abit flashy, not to much but a little :P
