How much time do you spend on custom thumbnails?

btw, another tip: dont make them to complicated, because its going to be pretty small on the feed anyways. so best is a thumbnail that got some info of like episode/what game and that kind of stuff. and then abit flashy, not to much but a little

I make the templates while waiting for the video to upload, but usually only a few minutes.

I do like 10 minutes, then realize that I can't upload thumbnails because my account is too new.

I don't do custom thumbnails, I take a picture after I cook it and slap in on there. I let the food speak for itself. But I may in the future.

Actually, on second thought I guess they are custom, but I use the same picture for my blog, and pinterest. So I guess 5 minutes. I don't add extra art, graphics or fonts but I may do so in the future.

We usually spend one minute or less. Usually it's just a close up of the food item we're reviewing, so it's easy to just snap a pic with the camcorder to use and dump some text in it. For crazy food challenges, we will sometimes use pictures taken when everything starts to go horribly wrong.
