How long will YouTube keep on going?!

It's Google. It may be out-competed, but it isn't going to disappear. Take Google+ for an example. Who here honestly uses Google+ over Facebook? Did that cause Google to scrap the idea though? No, they keep at their ideas. The exception would be Google videos, but that's because, shock horror, they bought YouTube and decided to integrate it with that.

So it's not going anywhere any time soon, however its market share may change, and so it's always good to build a brand identity and not rely on YouTube alone for your name/fame/cash/whatever your goals are. Set up an external website, let people know your twitter/tumblr/facebook/website/instagram/etc, let people know your username/irl name so they can find you easier, and have a plan B.

That said, although YouTube might not always be the #1 competitor, I only expect it to gain in that field in the next few years. It's making a lot of innovations, and Facebook video etc really can't compete, Vimeo isn't as user friendly, etc etc.. So personally I see YouTube gaining an even larger following/market share over the next 5-10 years. As for after that? Who knows, so keep your options open in the long run, but don't fear either.

I think that youtube has a longer future ahead of itself. There is a ton of room for the company to grow especially with people getting rid of cable. It is also backed by amazing supporters!
